Sai Kaew Beach Resort is a perfect gateway to the paradise island of Koh Samet. It’s located on the beach and has a private beach area. In my opinion, Sai Kaew Beach Resort is the best choice in Koh Samet Island. They will delight you in every step of your stay here. We went there walk in without any prior booking. As their quoted price on sport was higher than Agoda we booked it through Agoda mobile app. If you book earlier they will provide both way transportation from the pier to resort. The resort is very clean and modern. View from the room was breathtaking. We enjoyed the food here. I will definitely come back here if I come to Koh Samet.

Hands down the best hotel in Koh Samet. It is brand new and facilities are equal or better to many hotels in Bangkok. Rooms are spacious and neatly designed. Breakfast buffet is good and the restaurant is very good. Cons:- lots of mosquitoes in the room. Staff was not very flexible. We booked five rooms with 9 adults and two kids. Yet the front desk insisted on charging an additional 650 THB per night. Other than these issues, an excellent place to spend a few days here

Stayed with my boyfriend. Bed very big, and very comfortable for Thailand! It had a sheet, a blanket and a nice pillow. Big, clean room with a view of the sea through floor to ceiling windows. Aircon worked powerfully and there was a fan option. There was one chair in front of the cottage. Food at the resort was usually very good, but take my advice and don't order a baked potato in the day - only from the evening bbq! Also the cheese isn't real cheese, it is burger style plastic cheese. The service was sometimes painfully slow, which didn't matter too much unless you were eating before going on a trip, but it was a little frustrating. My favourites were seafood green curry and pork bbq stick. The beach was amazing and not too busy. Much, much nicer than the other beaches we saw on the island. It had two snorkelling points that were deserted and peaceful. The resort has home made wooden swings hanging from the trees all over the place, some can fit three people at a time and are a lot of fun. There are hammocks too. There is a nice pool but we didn't go in as people with long hair must wear a swimming cap - and we prefer the sea anyway! The people staying at the resort were mainly families and couples, with a few groups of friends. They were mainly foreign with a few Thai visitors. The roads are extremely bumpy, and the taxis are more like jeeps. Make sure you get in one that has padding on the seat or you will get a sore bum! It costs 450 baht to go one way from the pier on Koh Samet to Ao Wai beach. It costs 400 baht one way to go in a taxi to the popular Diamond Beach from Ao Wai. I recommend taking a private speedboat straight to the resort from Ban Phe pier, because if you take the normal ferry you have to climb over loads of other boats at Koh Samet pier, and sometimes jump some big gaps between boats, though there are boat boys to help you with your bags. Also you don't have to bother with taxis at the other end!

Samed Grand View Resort is situated on SaiKaew beach, the largest of the beaches on Koh Samet. Here the water is clean and very nice for swimming. As the largest beach on Koh Samet there is plenty of choice when it comes to dining and other attractions. The hotel is nice, bungalows and hotel blocks in a nice garden setting, just off the beach. The hotel restaurant is beautiful with a lovely view of the beach.

Our first time in Koh Samet. As we booked quite last minute we only managed to book a hillside room which was still lovely. We were right at the top so we actually had a lovely panoramic view of the beach. We had free transportation from the Ban Phe pier straight to the resort which saved us a lot of time and money. Very quite and relaxing area and not overly crowded. The staff at the resort were lovely. We would have liked more activities around the resort as pools closed at 8pm and there wasn’t much left to do in the evening. Other than that, we cannot fault the resort. Highly recommended.

Close to the beach made it easy to walk up and down to the room between hanging out at the beach and relaxing in the room. Food was good at decent rates, only possible drawback was that the staff sometimes were more busy talking to each other rather then looking after the customers, without it being a huge problem but this was the feeling we had at times. In general they were kind and helpful though so it is nothing I would bring up as a huge negative. Just more of an observation. Other than that the room was big, big bed and a balcony with a sitting group. Only thing they could have added was a sitting group inside the room as it was more than enough room for it. They had a small fridge to keep our drinks cool, a neat bathroom with hot water showers and the standard was very good. Television was pretty up to date and the room was clean. All in all a very decent room for the price. It is a very good place for those who wants to be close to the beach, especially couples and families. They had a bar/disco belonging to the hotel that was very active during the night so if you want to have a couple of drinks during night time the option is there. Fire show and modern pop disco music with an external bar next to it so you could also sit outside if you think the music is too loud. My overall opinion of the place is that it is more suitable for those who want a calm and relaxing stay, with the option of going to a close bar to hang out as well. If I would go back to Koh Samet this would absolutely be an option for me.

We and another couple landed on Sangthian Beach Resort trying to book two rooms on Koh Samet the weekend after Christmas, which proved to be a extremely busy time on the Island. That said, there are nicer places that seem to have comparable prices, especially on the quiet, southern side of the island. At Sangthian, the rooms were clean, stock with water and towels. We had rooms with a sea view and the sound of the waves coming into the small beach was relaxing. The breakfast included in our tickets was solid.

I have stayed on Koh Samet more times that is sensible and I’ve stayed at all different levels of accommodation. The biggest difference between Le Vimarn and all the others is that this place is a real resort. Most of the little bungalows are just that! A bungalow and a small restaurant. Le Vimarn has it all – a spectacular infinity pool, lovely spa, great sun loungers on the beach and several restaurants to choose from. Obviously because you’re getting a LOT more here than at the other places, you’re going to pay for it! Le Vimarn is CONSIDERABLY more expensive than any other bungalow accommodation on Koh Samet. This hotel is also situated on the “other” side of the island, which can be annoying if you’re wanting to party until late or be around lots of people, as you’ll need to get a taxi at 200B each way. I think the best advice for this place is you need to evaluate what you want from your stay on Koh Samet. If you’re going with friends and want to party – then this is definitely not the place to stay. If you’re going with your partner and want something romantic – then you can’t do better! It is also great for families as it’s not as busy as the other side.

We've been to Koh Samet about 20 times in 5 years and friends have always recommended Tubtim Resort. We stubbornly returned to a different hotel time and again. This time around we decided to try Tubtim and we are so mad we didn't listen to our friends years ago! Tubtim is our favourite beach on the island. Its calm quiet clean and no Chinese tour groups! There are a few restaurants and a cool beach bar too. Tubtim Resort is vast and there are many toom typea available- we stayed in an A type room (a garden view bungalow) and it was exactly what you need. The bed could be softer but other than that it was a step above the other rooms we've stayed in on Samet in the same price range. Great staff and nice breakfast!

The room (family room) was very clean and spacious and close to the beach. Be aware that if you book a standard room it can be located far up the hill, which is quite a walk every time. The restaurant serves good western and Thai food and for Koh Samet is on the cheaper side. Most restaurants are more expensive. The beach was very nice and ideal for a family with kids. Beach chairs can be rented for 80 THB for the whole day. Other nearby beaches are easily accessible by foot, but the resort also rents out motorcycles. We enjoyed our stay. I gave 4 stars for facilities, since in a resort like this the rooms should have a hot water boiler for making coffee IMO.

We had a short 3-night visit with my wife at week 7 2014. It was first time at Koh Samet (or any island at Thailand for that matter) for both of us so I was little concerned in advance about several things as I didn't know exactly what to expect. But everything went smooth since the ferry trip to the island, there was a friendly guy from the resort taking care of our luggage (he also took our luggage back to the ferry when we leaved). Resort was not at the main beach which was a good thing after all, resort's own beach was quite small and it was also quiet and peaceful - not a single vendor offering services or stuff... However the walk to the main beach is not more than 15min if you miss more action. The restaurant at Baan Ploy was good as well, there was mainly oriental foods but they asked you always if you wanted yours spice or not.

Happy, smiling staff, very welcoming which is a lovely change from some Koh Samet resorts. Bo in reception is super helpful and Sai in the restaurant is very sweet. The beach here is crystal clean and cool and it is way less crowded and cleaner beach than the 'popular' Hat Sai Kaew beach. I booked a poolside cottage, a lovely white, clean room just across from the refreshing and much needed pool. It has a kiddies corner with a huge blow up unicorn which was a lot of fun for all. The breakfast has a large selection, something for everyone and the restaurant on the beach of an evening serves delicious Thai food, some of the best Iv'e had in Thailand. The only negative is the bed....it is really hard. I slept on the pillows.

We had a lovely stay at C Samet Resort. Even extended our stay. Many of the other guests were "returners" who had been coming to C Samet för 10 years. I understand why. The location is perfect in the most southern part of the small bay; the waves are calmer, and the atmosphere is soothing and calm. Yet you can walk along the beach to any other restaurant within 5 minutes. C Samets own restaurant is in my opinion one of the beachs best. Excellent food in a cosy garden-like beach setup. What made our stay extra memorable was the kindness and warmth of the staff. Every day we chatted, they played with our kids and everything was really nice. Would absolutely recommend and return to The C Samet Resort!

It took us 6 weeks to find a place which would suit our expectations on a holiday, full of relaxation, great food, great service and an exclusive location. Paradee Resort in Koh Samet fit the description to the letter. Relaxation - 10 out of 10 Food - 10 out of 10 (Both asian and western cuisine superb) Especially the spaghetti carbonara) Service - 10 out of 10 (Staff are very friendly and aren't over the top.) Location - 10 out of 10 (can only get to the resort by speed boat. Makes it feel more exclusive especially when they drive out the pier from the beach.) We were invited to a meet and greet cocktail party with all the Paradee management team, this was a great idea as it showed that the team had an interest in there guests. In all, thanks again to Kung, Marcus, Piero, Natalie, Patty, Ping Pong, Ming and the entire Paradee team. Peace out.

If you want a 5 Star resort holiday then Koh Samet isn't the place for you because they don't exist. If you are flexible and can accept a few annoyances than this is a great place. I really liked this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the food was fine, the beach was clean, staff were friendly and it's close to Wongduen beach which has many more restaurants and entertainment. The hotel is being renovated, but they weren't working the week we were there. There are millions of mosquitoes but this is all over Koh Samet (take repellant). We got a very good deal on the rooms we had so to us it was great value. For what we wanted it was perfect.

If you want to make vacations at Koh Samet then don't look at the hotel. You'll be at the beach most of the time. The Vikar Samet Resort is at the corner of the beach, so if you don't want to make a lot of party until the end of the night, it's the perfect place. If they had a place to wash your feet after walking on the sand, everything would be perfect. Yes, the bathroom could be better, but what do you expect for this price? Everything worked and we had a beautiful time at Koh Samet. Thanks Vimarn Samet Resort!

Stayed for one week and had a great visit at Koh samet. The Hotel is in perfect condition and near the pier. Nice rooms and some with balcony. Best of all is The staff and specially the staff manager Leh that have a great way of taking care of costumers. Will definetly Come back to this Hotel in Koh Samet and best of all they have a pool that should be finished to april.

Had a lovely stay. We speak Thai so not sure how the experience would've been on English. The staff are Burmese and very helpful. Was nice and quiet (other than the renovations currently being done) and very reasonably priced. At the time we stayed there was no dining option so I would recommend taking your own breakfast (but from rayong or 7-11 on koh samet if not fussy) unless you're happy to pay over $10 for an average breakfast next door. There is a little food shop over the road that make yummy, simple Thai food for as little as 50 baht. So close to the beach and a nice quiet part of the island. Definitely worth hiring a motorbike to get around.

The hotel was quite new and the cleanliness was highly appreciated. It is located at the center of a very nice but crowded beach. It is also very close to the capital of Ko Samet, which is a street of a few 100 m with shops, restaurants and guest houses. I recommend skipping the rooms with sea-view to get away from the noise. During the day, there are a lot of boats that makes more noise than you might imagine and later there the night-life begins. The rooms have a little bit of a "naive and creative" design that may not appeal to everybody and the furniture was sparse. The bed was very comfortable. I recommend renting a moped to go see other beaches.

My family spent 4 days at Nimmanoradee in a February long week-end. Living in Bangkok, we wanted to enjoy some days at the beach and looking for an island not too far. Koh Samet was the obvious choice being Ban Phe only 2 and 1/2 hours away. We do not love place too animate or luxury resorts, also rbecause we have a less than 3 years old daughter. We found Nimmanoradee on Agoda and falled in love already on the site. The resort is placed at the very end of the island, with tiny and colourful bungalows within the small beach and the forest. We had a garden view bungalows. No lux, but everything you need (good bed, a little hard but we are used living in Thailand, a small tele with dvd that we never turned actually, a frigo, air conditioning, a spacious bath room with warm water and hair dryer) and around 20 meters from the beach. There are hammocks and swings everywhere (Valentina loved them so much), the location is clean and even if all bungalows were full, we never had the impression that there were much people. The beach is small but very clean, unusual in Thailand, water is clear and, even more important, no scooter, boats and similar in the sea. A peace of paradise where you can lie down during the day swinging with your hammock listening the sound of the waves. Amazing! Restaurant was also very good and fair on prices. From Nimmanoradee it takes long to go anywhere. You must come by boat, better private speed boat. Nonetheless, price are correct ( a bottle of Chang beer 55 bath),the food is Thai and well prepared. Fried shrimps and fried bananas excellent. The service is not super but correct, actually very Thai :) and when you are eating with the sound of the waves as music at sunset, is not the service your priority. We will definetely be back to Nimmanoradee in the future. It is now our resort in Samet!

We LOVE Summer Day Beach Resort!!! After spending a week whizzing around Thailand, we finally arrived on Koh Samet for 2 days of pure rest and relaxation and Summer Day Beach Resort was the perfect place for this! We chose to hire a speedboat from Ban Phe Pier which cost 2500baht return for 2 people. The journey took about 15 minutes and the boat dropped us on the beach right outside the hotel! Perfect! The hotel only has 6 rooms and all are just a few feet from the beach. We stayed in room 4 which offered the best view. The room was fantastic. Large, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Each room also has a small terrace with deck chairs which were lovely for the evening - we enjoyed sitting out and watching all of the activity along the beach. The beach is perfect. Soft, white sand and gentle, clear blue sea! It is a popular beach and is busy but not crowded and there are boats coming and going all the time so there is plenty to see! The hotel has a bar and serves food right on the beach. The menu is varied, affordable and very tasty! The only downside is, they stop serving food at 7:30pm and the bar closes at 9pm. However, if you do wish to eat/drink later, there are plenty of other hotels, restaurants and bars just a short stroll down the beach. Breakfast was included in the room rate and there was a good selection available. The service was excellent, although a lot of the staff didn't speak English and we speak very little Thai. They also called up the mainland to help arrange our return journey to Ban Phe which was very helpful! Sadly, we did not see the island of Koh Samet, opting to stay on the beach for the duration of our stay, but Summer Day Beach Resort made us feel like nowhere else existed! We were in a little bubble of paradise for 2 days and it was wonderful! Thank you Summer Day Beach Resort - we love you and can't wait to come back soon!

This was my first time time to Koh Samet and we chose La Lune based on good reviews and price.  The hotel was good and clean, which os surprising considering the sand on everyone's feet.  They are little foot wash pools outside the lobby that help.  The restaurant was okay, but really shined when the evening came and they do a beach side barbeque each night. Delicious.  This hotel tended to be quieter than its neighbors and my wife and I appreciated that.  Plenty of other restaurants and mini-marts are within walking distance.  The beach was good and wide enough when tide was down.  Even when up, there was enough space for sun worshipers. The pool is clean and partially shaded at certain parts of the day.  The staff is friendly and seem to work non-stop.  So at least you can become familiar with them.  I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know wanting to go to Koh Samet. We took the Cherdchai bus from Bangkok-Ekkamai to Ban Phe. Round trip tickets were about B320 each and takes about 3.5 hours each way.  Once you arrive at Ban Phe you can walk across the street to Nuantip pier and buy a ferry ticket to Ao Wongduan.  You have to wait until they have 20 people before they go, but its not bad.  They ferry you to an initial pier, but you stay on the boat and they continue on to Ao Wongduan.  Once in the bay, you transfer to a flat boat that takes you to the beach, with a charge of B10 per person.  If you have trouble walking or getting around, I would recommend finding a speed boat that can take you directly to the beach.  Transferring between the pier - ferry - boat - beach can be tricky.  Once on the beach, you have to pay the National Park entrance fee, B40 for Thais and B200 for everyone else.  So have some cash on hand before leaving the pier.
