I only booked this place because the staff at my hotel in Vientiane recommended it. I should have trusted my gut and the many bad reviews I saw online. Yes, the view was decent, but absolutely not worth the stay. The room was outdated and felt dirty. I was constantly uncomfortable, like things were crawling on me. Ants kept appearing everywhere, including the bed. I reported it to the staff, and it took over an hour for someone to come check. When I asked to switch rooms, I was told they were fully booked due to New Year celebrations. The only solution offered? A can of bug spray. That bug spray became my best friend because once night hit, the roaches came out. The sheets didn’t seem clean, the towels were dingy and overused (thankfully I brought my own), and there was a 2-inch (5cm) gap under the front door, letting bugs and whatever else crawl right in. This was hands down the worst place I stayed during my entire trip through Southeast Asia. Honestly, it shouldn’t be called a hotel it’s more like a run-down motel. The staff weren’t helpful at all. If you speak English, don’t expect any effort to communicate with you, even via Google Translate. I asked a staff member if she could help call a taxi to the train station she just stared at me, shook her head, and made no attempt to assist, even after I translated my request. I ended up waking up extra early just to get out of there. Couldn’t sleep comfortably, couldn’t relax. Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else.
Stayed here 10 years ago, before the addition of the pool and newer hotel side. Really enjoyed my stay, so decided to book again. Unfortunately, now they are doing long tail boat rides past the hotel starting at 6:30am, ending at sundown. The views from our balcony were incredible, but the noise really spoils it. Guests were allowed to hang out next to the pool at night, adding to the noise, and we awoke each morning to their left behind trash scattered all over. Disgraceful. The polluted waterway behind the hotel smelled awful. Some plants, flowers, decor could’ve added to the place’s ambiance, but there was none of that. No drinks for sale at the front desk. The room was basic, had no fridge, and the water from the shower did not drain properly, creating a rancid smell. This place has great potential, with its location on the river, in the center of town, but doesn’t seem like much care is being put in. The price was cheap. If more care was put into this place, and those boat rides were stopped, I’d be happy to pay more for a stay.
The location is great & has the most incredible view. The bungalow was clean & spacious and had everything we needed, the pool was also a great plus. The price is the best you'll find for what you get.
I had balcony facing out by the river, good space for me as solo traveller. Do expect some noise from downstairs as the hotel also run as restaurant. The staff speak little English but still communicable. Bed is comfortable just the flooring is Abit dusty. Overall, good stay for two nights for me

There is a large swimming pool, spacious rooms with a river view. The nights are quiet, perfect for relaxation. Room service is available, but they do not enter the room; they will hang drinking water, toothbrushes, and tissues for you outside the room every day during your stay. You can hire a transportation service or rent a motorcycle to explore various places near the hotel. The location is excellent, close to everything you need. The check-in service is quick, not prolonged, and there is no key deposit. The staff serves very efficiently at this point; I must commend them, even with customers from China, Laos, and Westerners queuing up. Check-out is easy, great service, quick and efficient. There is a balcony with tables and chairs to enjoy the view behind the room; you can buy papaya salad and grilled food to eat casually on the balcony. I really like it here.
