Riverfront hotels & places to stay

After all review, i booked this hotel which i think was one of the few best place in my life. Staff are well-known about how to run Hotel business. Room are clean,bed is turn down every night. Staff are extremely professional in all way and sun set cruise is super. Thank Damien And Vone GM of hotel and all who are care and always ask us how is our days. Not all hotel are such professional even 5 star is not so helpful and care. Luang Prabang is one of city that has it unique atmosphere cool breeze along river Mekhong and Khan, riding hotel free bicycle around all day and come back to bed at beautiful and most comfort hotel is what you need. Only sad thing is hotel Wifi is unstable. You might have to surf the net outside hotel. I think this will not be my last visited to this hotel.

The hotel lives up to the charm In its name. Location was great with its river view and the river view rooms were beautiful with teak from floor to ceiling. and supremely comfortable beds. The only suggestion for them would be for housekeeping to do a little better job with restocking ( coffee supplies, washcloths, putting toilet paper on roll). That may be just due to being understaffed as they all seemed to be overworked. Chang who seemed to wear a dozen hats (receptionist, hostess, server, concierge,, to name a few) was very friendly, welcoming and absolutely gracious and did everything she could to make our stay as pleasant as it was. Her hospitality was the best.

Well, there is no Spa in this hotel despite the name. However, you should not missed this rare beauty, especially after you have spent some time in the hotel at the town center. Coming over to this side of the Meikong river really give you the feeling of staying in a heavenly place looking at Luang Prabang from the other side. Early morning breakfast is a must, wake up early before the sun rise and capture a glimpse of glowing fogs on the river surface, sipping your coffee waiting for the sun shine is the best moment in my entire trip. The hotel have good staff and excellent arrangement of transporting you over the river and shuttle you to the town center. To some, this maybe troublesome, but if you enjoy the process, the journey off going back to hotel is an enjoyable one. Is there any other place that you can take a boat and check in to your hotel? That alone get my kid excited!!! While the facilities in the hotel will required some upgrade, the oval swimming pool is well maintain. And you must walk to the pottery village just next door and get your hand dirty.

This is one of the best properties I have stayed as their service rendered is excellent. The room itself is wonderful too. Great view of the Mekong river right from our balcony. I had issues with my flight and could not make it on the day of my reservation, but Mr Chanh was nice enough to assist me with contacting agoda to amend my booking on my behalf. This really goes beyond what they are actually expected to do and I'm truly impressed and grateful! Throughout our stay, we had Mr Lan as our butler and he really really went all out to help us in every possible request we had. It was also my bday and they specially prepared a cake for me! What a surprise! The details that they look into is something 99% of other properties cannot even do. We just love this place so much that we are coming back definitely and we will bring our baby along too. Mr Lan and Chanh brought so much magic to this holiday that it made us feel like we are on a second honeymoon! Thank you!

Wow! So happy we found View Khem Khong Guesthouse! Great riverside location with gorgeous riverfront restaurant (delicious breakfasts, fruit shakes, and Lao and Luang Prabang specialties!) What really makes this hotel unique, though, is the amazing staff. Eric in particular is so kind, attentive, and knowledgable--he has the ability to help you make the MOST of your time in Luang Prabang. From arranging waterfall visits to recommending restaurants, massage places, and the best sights/sites around, Eric is the best! Cold A/C, fast wifi, hot water showers.... you can't go wrong!

We stayed in the Lankham Riverside Hotel for 4 nights. We were able to sample 3 different rooms. A ground floor double, a first floor twin, and a first floor balcony room. Our favourite was the twin room, which had slightly more space than the other rooms. At the rear of the hotel, there was less noise from the road. Each rom was spotless, with good facilitioes and a comfortable bed (s). The water was warm at all times in the bathrooms, and these likewise, spotless. An unpleasant odour in the ground floor bathroom was our reason for moving rooms - it was not apparent in the other rooms we used. The building is asolid old French Colonial House, with polished wood floors, and high ceilings. Shoes are left at the door when you enter. All of the staff of the hotel are very warm and helpful, from welcoming drinks, to response to queries about rooms. Breakfast was included in the rate, and was quite servicable, a choice of western and asian fod, with plenty of fruit. The location is very good, in a quiet area on the Mekong Riverfront (though the road in from takes some traffic). Just across the road (and to the left and right) are many restaurants, within a couple of minutes walk. The sights are perhaps 5 to 10 minutes of sedate walking (and sedate is the correct pace for Luang Prabang).

I've been you, dear traveller, scrolling through a list of Agoda options trying to pick one of a million options based on a few pictures. Let me make this easy for you BOOK THIS ONE. I booked one day but extended for 10. You could just trust me, or you can read my top reasons: - Andy. Andy is the best. He runs the house and really takes care of his guests. He made it feel like I was living in the house, visiting an old friend not like I was booking a room. Also, trust all of his advice. - The atmosphere. Tea around the kitchen table, coffee on the upstairs terrace, soft jazz floating through the patio, it really sucks you in - The people. Manchian attracts such great people! Its social and easy to make friends there, but everything shuts down by 9PM - The breakfast! German made muesli, fruit, a whole bread basket, passion fruit jam AND an omelette? Unlimited coffee? Yes thank you. I think I should have moved in. I might go do that now :P Enjoy the magic of Manichan and Luang Prabang!

We have kept coming back to this wonderful guesthouse, it is simply the best! All staff go out of their way to help in any way they can and are exceptionally friendly. They will book things for you without adding an extra charge! The rooms are very clean and beautifully presented, beds comfortable, shower hot and aircon cold. It's in a perfect quiet picturesque little lane with the Mekong river just a few steps away and the night market only an easy 5min walk. I can't recommend this place more highly. I will most definitely stay here again when I next visit beautiful Luang Prabang.

Loads of charm (teak house), really helpful owner and staff, rooms were exactly as offered on website (a rare occurrence in my experience over the years). Couldn't be better. Great for Mekong riverside restaurants & access to all the places of interest in Luang Prabang UNESCO area. Were we to return we'd definitely book this place again. (I broke my ankle whilst I was here - open drain on unlit pavement) and they could not have been more helpful while I waited for the all-clear to fly home. Top marks for everything. Thank you Kone!

We stayed here twice in the space of a week since we visited nong khiaw inbetween. WiFi isn't very good but that's generally the case with all WiFi in town. Our first stay was in a superior double. We were given room 5. The room was spacious and includes a fridge and kettle. The shower wasn't in the best of condition. The aircon made a lot of noise. However, the bed in this room was the best we've slept in in our travels so far (6 weeks). The bed made up for the shortfalls elsewhere. We requested to stay in room 5 when booking our return trip and were promised it would be available, but unfortunately they had given it to another guest. We were given room 12 which is also supposed to be a superior double. The aircon work better in this room but that is the only improvement. Room 12 is smaller, the shower room is also a lot smaller. And the bed just does not compare. We were very disappointed with our sleep. The staff are nice and helpful, the location is good. If you book this hotel for the superior double, make sure you ask for room 5!

We have stayed in Mekong Estate 5 nights from 8th to 13th December 2017 and it was unforgettable experience. The place is colonial style separate houses and apartments directly on Mekong river side. The place respects the Luang-Prabang colonial style and the location with fantastic view on Mekong river creates authentic atmosphere. The breakfast is served “a la carte” at your private terrace, which we enjoy so much. The place is very clean. Considering that there is no reception and common place for breakfast, you have full privacy and relax. The service is more than perfect, thanks to Mr. Toy has offered us the best permanence we could desire. We had free of charge the bottles of water with no limits. Small angle with boiler and Moka coffe, so my Italian husband was just happy to have his Moka coffe in the morning. We have been given also a mobile phone to use for local calls. To move around we have rented a scooter 125ccm and it was great. Mr. Toy also organized for us the trip to Pak Ou Caves by boat that we took just from our place, which was very special and useful. We loved this place, and it will stay in our memories forever. Strongly recommend to fully feel the authentic atmosphere of Luang-Prabang! Thank you Mr. Toy!

I always love staying in well run Guest Houses, they are so personal and inviting, making you feel like part of the family and Alounsavath Guesthouse does this better than most. The building is traditional Lao with beautiful timber throughout. If you can get a room on the first floor with a balcony, it's a great place to people watch and admire river life. The rooms are clean and a good size with the timber work continued throughout except for the tidy bathrooms. You eat breakfast across the road at the riverfront restaurant with its friendly staff, they also do a great lunch and dinner if you are looking for some traditional Lao food. The family that runs the Guest House are super friendly and are happy to help with tours and recommendations. Alounsavath Guesthouse is a great base to explore beautiful Luang Prabang.

Our group of five arrived one day earlier than expected ( our fault) right before Chinese New Year. Our gracious host was able to accommodate us and did not request any fee for changing our reservation. (We also needed to depart one day earlier.) Laundry service was quick and inexpensive. Our host also arranged for our transportation to Vangvieng. The rooms were lovely and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was not available but there are many cafes within a one minute walk and there are also many street vendors selling fruit shakes and crepes. Beautiful city.

First of all, the hotel located very near Phousi Temple (3mins walk), Morning Market(1min walk) and also night market. Although there is no view in the room but outside of the hotel is the Mekong river. Room was very clean and tidy. Bright and neat. The toilet is awesome, just same as the picture. Simple breakfast (Toasts, eggs and coffee/orange juice) was prepared by the staff at the roadside restaurant right outside hotel(which own by the hotel as well). Highly recommend if you don't want to stay in a backpackers hostel but also don't want to break the bank.

As well as being a guest house Ock Pop Tok provides tradition weaving and dying classes. Sadly we did not have time to take a class but it was lovely to see all the looms and there is a great shop where you can buy clothing etc. made by local artists. We were in the garden view room. It was great, well furnished and comfortable. One of the garden view rooms (there are only 4 rooms all up) even has a small balcony with an unofficial view of the river. A short walk to the river bank with stunning views and friendly locals who seemed happy to have a chat. Breakfast was the best we have ever had provided by a hotel in South East Asia. It is table service, cooked when you order not a tepid buffet. Although this is officially a two star hotel the service is far beyond what I would expect. All staff are helpful and speak good English. The night watchman (Tsong) was exeamly nice and helpful, even calling to change our flights for the next day. It is a short (maybe 10min) walk from the main tourist area but definitely worth it! It is a very calm and restful place with excellent views of the Meekongand great gardens. Dinner is not available after 5 but the staff are happy to help facilitate delivery from nearby cafes if required. The only possible drawback is that the wifi signal is weak in the rooms (but is fine on the balcony or in the lobby). However the garden is so delightfully lit up at night that sitting out was a pleasure! We hope to return one day!

The location is excellent, right in the main area of town, close to the morning and night markets, shops restaurants ect. Its not a 5 star hotel but is SUPER good value for money. The owner was super genuine, nice, helpful and friendly, free water coffee tea ect. Having are own shower and toilet and not sharing with other travellers was a welcomed change! When leaving we asked the owner to organize a taxi for us to the airport which ended up being 4 times less! than what 2 different greedy tuk tuk driver down the road had asked for. would happily stay here again or recommend to friends Only negative was that the walls were a little thin, which would make sleeping in a little difficult in the morning.

Beautiful, clean guesthouse in convenient riverfront location. Short walk to both riverfront restaurants and night market on the main street. Manager was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and well kept. Free wi-fi provided. Hotel organised laundry to be cleaned at reasonable rate. Cold Beer Lao in the minibar for great price. The only place I would stay if I were to return to Luang Prabang.

hotel is right on the riverfront maybe a 5minute walk from the night market and main shopping street. all the attractions are easily found and walked to from here. budget room was pretty small but clean, had a very comfy bed, some good air con and an awesome rain shower which was nice and warm after the not so nice weather we got. staff are incredible helpful and gave me great help after my card got swallowed in a machine. digressing a little...they also have the cutest little fluff ball of a dog which sits on a shelf who everyone in the place loves.

This guesthouse is one block north of the heart of the town, so while you have easy access to restaurants, cafes and museums, you're a little further from the bustle. Many wats are close by, and the riverfront is only one block away. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quite basic: one electrical plug, shower with out bath, no attempt to decorate the room extravagantly. I was not disappointed by the room, but those wanting a posh guesthouse or one with atmosphere would be disappointed. Choose it because it's in a good location and it's clean. There is no pool, nor amenities other than a computer with an internet connection in the entrance room.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay although we felt that it was a little overpriced. It would have been good to have been offered 'help yourself' water, tea, coffee. Our room was pleasant and very clean when we arrived, but we stayed 4 nights and it would have been good to at least have the toilet paper bin emptied. The wifi was patchy. Nice little balcony to be able to sit out on, overlooking the street.

This guesthouse has one of the best locations in LP and the single room was very comfortable with a private balcony. The night market is few mins by foot and the morning market is being held on this tiny road every morning. You can enjoy their tasty and filling breakfast at Manichan guesthouse next door. Staff takes care of you in all matters with bookings, tours etc. The atmosphere was just great with other guests. Take the tour with them to Kuang Si waterfalls, butterfly park and Nahm Dong park. It is absolutely worth it.
