This younger generation Ishiba, the present face of the ryokan, offers that rare invitation into a history which as a traveller can only be scratched at otherwise. There are Edo period dolls in the foyer, a part-sculpted, part self-flourishing garden visible from the halls, a authentic tatami rooms. The interior is laid out like a labyrinth. The house is very clean, warm and has a washing machine. It took us only 3 min, with 3 big luggage, to get the house from the Aomori train station. Very convenient for moving to Hakodate and to Tokyo by train. The owner was very very kind. She recommended us an excellent restaurant located very near the house. We had dinner there twice and it was the best restaurant (both for food quality and value for money) during our 2-week stay in Japan. 5 min walk to Aomori market for (dried and fresh) seafood shopping.

if u coming to see the Towadako Winter Festival, just like me and my friends, better check this hotel out. at some period during the festival, hotel provide free shuttle to guest from and to Hachinohe Station. its not a short journey so really worth the price when we booked the hotel. the room i booked is kinda like the ryokan one so expect to sleep with futon or tatam...if u coming to see the Towadako Winter Festival, just like me and my friends, better check this hotel out. at some period during the festival, hotel provide free shuttle to guest from and to Hachinohe Station. its not a short journey so really worth the price when we booked the hotel. the room i booked is kinda like the ryokan one so expect to sleep with futon or tatami style there and experience this Japanese culture style. and since they have onsen, do not forget to enjoy it also. the staff is helpful and patient ones, and its a quite big hotel. they also provide bus to the festival return trip. the price is not that cheap but still cheap comparing other hotels at Towadako area so i think this hotel is really recommended.
