Stability in Santiago”

I stayed at Santiago Hiroshima and Kyoto for about 3 days from January 12, 2022. Hiroshima was a one-night stay as planned. It was much better than I expected, so I wanted to stay one more night, but I departed for Kyoto. And stayed for 2 nights. Both Santiago Hiroshima and Kyoto were consistently good. The beds were especially sturdy. I stayed at another place that was 200 yen cheaper, but it was... Santiago has both walls protected by plywood, and the Kyoto branch had space to put luggage at the foot, as well as good lighting and a spacious dining area. Both the Hiroshima and Kyoto branches were cheap but well thought out, with shower rooms, dining areas, and washing machines placed in separate areas. If you choose a place with a 200 yen cheaper pipe bunk bed, only separated by curtains, where you can hear snoring clearly and get woken up at 3 am, and can't sleep for an hour, I strongly recommend choosing Santiago by paying an extra 200 yen. If you choose a similar guesthouse, I highly recommend Santiago. You can live here for at least half a year.

Everything is very nice”

It is my first time ever staying in the bunk bed hotel, and this hotel gives me the best experience about it. One of the surprising thing is one the staff speaks my language (Indonesia), and it makes me feel like im home right after arrived at the receptionist area. Bed rooms, shower rooms, and rest rooms are super clean. The staffs are also very chatty and friendly they give me recommendation places to visit as well. So it really feels like home. They also have coded locker so u can put your valuable things inside, the bed area is also enough to put my 24 inch luggage inside. Location wise this hotel is literally in the middle of the city of kyoto, it is only 15 min walking away to kadoiji temple also very near with Gion area. Only 2 min away from the gojozaka bus stop. Checkin time is at 3pm but u can put your luggage safely, and check out time is at 10am and i still put my luggage there till 9pm and dun worry abt your luggage when u explore kyoto city.

Excellent Location ”

Value for money : It's okay as it's very close to many tourist attractions such as Kiyomuzu- dera , Toji Temple , Gion Gesha District , Yasaka Shrine all walking distance . If you are more into walking and jogging you can jog to Fushimi Inari which is about 6kms. I did it and it was great. Also you can jog to Kyoto Imperial palace and Garden.. They are all walkable or you can jog in the morning . Cleanliness : I don't like the smell of the room and the toilets as they smell like medicine or something chemical. I guess the facility is also old as the walls on the toilet shows it. However, it is still tolerable . I just hope they spray something to get rid of the smell and also to atleast check on the toilet and bathroom walls . Staff: Can't say much about the staff haven't had any interactions to them, but they did answer my questions online before checking in. They provided details that I needed since I was late in checking in. Facility: The kitchen is equipped with some utensils available for cooking. It has kettle, oven, toaster and ref. to store food. They also have hair dryer and I was able to use free detergent for my laundry. Washing machine and dryer are very cheap ¥100 less than a dollar. Shower rooms and toilet are being shared by both male and female, which I felt uncomfortable... 😟 You need to have your own towel and toothpaste and toothbrush as they are not being provided. Over all the place is okay.

Fantastic Stay in Kyoto”

I spent 1 day here, the location is great, super convienient from here to go to other temples. I definitely recommend to go to the Kiyomizu-dera in the early morning. the staffs here are both friendly and welcome. the place is super clean, the little capsule (bed) is splited into 2 spacse: one is clean for sleeping, another is rough carpet kind of thing to put the bag or something. Do enjoy Japanese design~

Great stay in Kyoto”

Conveniently located near the main attractions, around 10 mins walk to nearby mrt station. The stay was great, clean and comfortable. However, the facilities (laundry and towel) need to be rented. Otherwise, a great stay. One more thing, the lockers need to be read carefully…. I may have accidentally locked my stuff in them and had to wait the other day to open it. But still a great day!
