Newest kid on the block... literally”

The Seongsan Sunrise Hotel is the newest hotel in the area, so the rooms and facilities are very new. The view from our room faces the west, so there's really a spectacular sunset with the seaview from the window. CVS (a local 7-11 chain) is about a minute walk away, and it offers all the necessary instant food if one feels peckish at night. There is a bicycle rental shop a few streets away, which helps in exploring the area too. A short walk away from the hotel is the main street and easy access to the Ilchulbong. It's about 25 minutes' walk to get to the pier for the ferry to Udo. The hotel has energy-saving lights that activates via motion sensors in the corridors for the floors with rooms.

Great location ”

The location is very good. It’s walking distance to Seongsan Ilchibong and Gwangchiji Beach. Seopjikoji and udo are also around. This is a small and leisure area which you can easily explore by feet. There is a lot of great restaurants around the hotel. Also, hotel itself sells cheap and nice pastries. The room is super clean and comfortable. The staffs are very helpful as well. This hotel is great value for money. Also, this is a good option for backpackers; take a direct bus from airport, off at Seongsan Ilchubong stop and walk less than a minute to the hotel. ***If you do stay in this area, sunrise at Seongsan Ilchubong is definitely what you shouldn’t miss. Definitely unforgettable! Enjoy!

Very good location to Food and tourist spot”

Found this hotel as it is very near to where we wanted to travel to, Seongsan Sunrise Peak, 78 Seongsan-ri, Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju-do, South Korea. Ample parking lot. But do ask for Hill View for those who may want to watch the sunrise just from your room.

10 minutes walk to seongsan ilchulbong”

We walked to seongsan sunrise peak from our hotel, we got nice room with view overlooking the ocean. Ask for room 501 if you want seaview. There were some restaurant and CU nearby. Canola flower field was 12 minutes walk to south direction, across Gwangchigi beach. Really recommended hotel with quiet room, perfect for light sleepers.

Nice Hotel with Sunset View”

Despite it being Seongsan Sunrise Hotel, I didn't manage to catch any sunrise from my room. However, I caught the sunset from my room and it was beautiful! Also, walking distance to Seongsan Ilchubong (15mins~) and food area (~10mins). You can take a cab to the port where you will board a ferry to Udo Island. It costs around 3000-3500 won. One point to note, the beds are very hard.

Excellent”

Very good location especially if you are catching sunrise the next morning at the Seongsan Sunrise Peak, it was only a 10 min walk over. Has very good seaview as well, not sure about sunrise but sunset was beautiful. Many restaurants nearby as well. There is a bakery next to the hotel lobby, it’s a little pricey though. Hotel room was spacious and staff was friendly.

Basic hotel, clean room, friendly service”

Ample parking lots as compared to other hotels on the island. Decent sized room, clean and bright. Good view of the mainland but not Ilchulbong Peak though. Try your luck for a room facing the peak, so if you are too tired to venture out in the wee morning to catch sunrise, you can watch it from the room instead. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. Checkout made easy - just drop room keycard into bowl at counter. No fuss, everyone does that. Many good eateries behind the hotel, you will be spoilt for choices.

Superb satisfied”

Great view, clean, spacious, staff is friendly and able to speak in English, no communication problem. About 8mins walk to Seongsan Sunrise Peak Entrance, got a lot of good food nearby. Will recommend for those who would like to stay in Seongsan.

Magnificent View”

We stayed here for 2 nights. Staff were not able to speak English but some can communicate in Mandarin. They firmly enforced the check in time rule. You can leave your luggage & check in at 3pm. We were really wowed by the room itself. Couldn't ask for a better view. We chose to stay here for 2 nights as a base for Seongsan & Udo island. Bed was comfortable for us (on the hard side). Bottled water provided. Toiletories provided: toothbrush set, shower cap, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner & hairdryer. Do note that this area is mainly a farming area. My husband got really sick on our last night. I was informed by the reception staff that there are no doctors available nearby. The nearest help is 1 hour away in Jeju city or Seogwipo. The night staff were very helpful & called 911 for me and got an ambulance to take us to the hospital. When we were ready to leave the hospital at 1.30am, the hospital staff called 3 cab companies which refused to drive to Seongsan. They eventually found a willing driver for us at a cost. Pros: 1) Huge spacious clean room 2) Magnificent view of Seongsan from the bedroom 3) Massive bathroom with jacuzzi tub 4) Free parking & super close to Seongsan & Udo Ferry Terminal Cons: 1) Very strict & inflexible check-in/out time 2) The staff can't communicate in English and some of them are warmer & friendlier to their Korean speaking guests. We found the night staff friendlier. 3) No staff to help you after 9pm 4) Bath towels are the size of face towels (they don't have any bigger towels). They were very strict about the number of towels per room. You will be charged for any additional towels you request.

Perfect location”

The hotel is so perfect that our room is facing the sea and behind is the Seongsan Ilchulbong. Will definitely recommend for my friend or visit again when we go to Jeju next time.

Only cons perhaps was the room gets a little warm in the afternoon as the sun shines right through the window. Location wise was really close, walkable distance to Seongsan Iichibong and a cs25 just beside! Please remember to try a restaurant nearby called Pork Cut Let, best donkatsu ever tasted in my life!

Only cons perhaps was the mountain view was not as impressive as we were only able to caught the view in the corner of the window. I suspect only certain room has the fantastic view. Location wise was really close, walkable distance to Seongsan Iichibong and a cs25 just beside! Please remember to try a restaurant nearby called Pork Cut Let, best donkatsu ever tasted in my life!

Spacious and cosy room. Nice and clean!”

A short distance away from seongsan ilchulbong. There is a nice carpark in front of the hotel for those driving there. Hotel staff was nice. We were very late in arriving (due to the fire festival), and they had a note for us at the front desk, with our rooms already ready for us. Value for money!

Location beats everything else.”

Location. U just need to walk 5 to 10 min to catch a great sunset. As I booked it to catch the sunrise/sunset, I wanted to stay near it be able to adjust the weather condition. On the first day, we stayed till late to catch the sunset n then walk afew min to a row of restaurants then afew minutes to a supermart to top up groceries then afew minutes back to hotel. It couldn't be more perfect. The 2nd day it was too cloudy to catch sunset or sunrise so we spend the time trekking up the crater n taking pictures of the rocks n surroundings. The 3rd day it was still too cloudy. We didn't manage to get the sunrise but it was ok. We had the most beautiful sunset on day 1. the rooms either face the crater or sea. it is just so wonderful to wake up to such great outdoor view Bring it own big towel is u must. Bring some hooks or suction hooks to hang ur toiletries n clothes when u shower. Bring slippers for bathroom if u Dun want to walk on cold floor. The bathroom is clean w bidet, but it is a wet shower area.

Close to seongsan ilchulbong”

You should request for a corner room facing seongsan ichulbong, the view is amazing! Great stay for great value! Enough time to go for a sunrise hike and back for checkout

Location is great. Actually we can see the ocean right through our window. So so so pretty. And in walking distance to Seongsan ilchubong and the ferry pier to udo island, really recommended!!

Sunrise hotel is situated at a convenient location close to many restaurants and the Songsan hill that many visit to catch the sunrise. The room is clean too and front desk was very helpful.

Fast check iin and friendly reception staff. Clean room and nice view. Walking distance to sunrise peak. A lot of convience store and restaurant around the hotel. Hotel is located along the coast road and nice for walk along the coast road.

15 minutes walk to the entrance of Seongsan Ilchulbong. Located next to highway. Restaurants within walking distance. Room was spacious and staff were very helpful.

Recommended if u going Illchubong for sunrise”

The room is clean and big enough for 2 ppl, near to illchubong and restaurants. Good that staffs speak basic english, no problem for communications. i think there are 2 sunrise hotel in that area, couldn't really find with GPS from our rental car, we went with Kaokao map ended up.
