Everything fine”
This was a fine place to spend a couple of nights in Kratie. The room is large and has an effective fan, and the sheets were clean. The porch at the end of the hall gives a view onto the Mekong. I’d stay again.

Very basic room with ants, but nice owner”
Standard room with electric fan, double bed with private bathroom, hot water and a couple of shampoos. No television, hot city so hot room on 4th floor, stairs only, many ants even after spraying for bugs. The place would need some work because a bit rundown. Good service for arranging dolphin tour and buses, owner speaks English, is very friendly and accommodating. Menu available 6h30 to 22h.

Good for cheap accommodation ”
For ~4 dollars a night, cant expect much. Worth it. Very loud in the morning but spacious room with private bathroom. Nice staff and great location by the water.

Great Location, Lovely and Friendly Staff”
I stayed at Silver Dolphin for 2 nights and the staff were exceptional. On arrival the owner explained to me that the room booked via Agoda for the price was a fan only room. I did not have an issue with this as there wasn't an option on Agoda to book a fan only room. The guesthouse offers happy hour from 5pm to 8pm and the staff talk with the guests during this time which I liked. To add to exceptional service, I was out the following night and the guesthouse called me at midnight to ask where I was and what time I would be back as they were closing up, you couldn't ask for better service than that! I would stay here again and have also recommended the guesthouse to other travellers based on the staff. The rooms are basic, small bathroom which is functional and the rooms have windows to the outside which is perfect when you have a fan only room.

Fantastic stay and wonderful staff!!”
I rarely leave written reviews but I feel like their rating is a bit unfair... I had such a plaisant stay at Silver Dolphin. I stayed there five years ago and decided to come back to that same guesthouse. It has been completely renovated. In the end, I extended my stay and stayed there five nights. From what I’ve seen, the guesthouse is cleaned daily and even several times a day. The dorms are simple but comfortable. Lockers are small but plenty of space under the bed for backpacks and luggage. No curtains. At least, three showers and toilets, simple but clean. The common area is lovely and great for meeting people. There is a balcony at the top for sunset viewing. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Possibility to rent bicycles and motorbikes. For the price I paid I could have stayed there a month!!

Great, no complaints! ”
Basic accommodation but for the price, you shouldn't expect luxury! I booked a double room with an ensuite, it was clean and the bed was pretty big. The only downside was a drip in the bathroom but I didn't raise this so I can't (and won't) moan about it! There's also a school next door so request the other side of the building if you like a lie in! The accommodation is perfectly located for the bus station (300m walk so no need for a tuk tuk) and they will sort out onward bus tickets and give advice on seeing the dolphins which by the way, are amazing! If I was returning to this area I would definitely stay in the Silver Dolphin again.

Great locaton and friendly staff”
Very cheap but nice and clean hotel. When we arrived to the hotel the manager was waiting for us to apologize and said that we have to spend one night in another hotel because they didn`t have an internet connection for some time and they didn`t have our booking. He had managed us another hotel very near to Silver Dolphin and had already paid for this. So next day we got a room in in Silvet Dolphine. Of course there was some discomfort in changing hotels but as the manager was so nice and polite it wasn`t big deal for us.

Exceptional”
I’m not sure why the reviews here are so mixed. The room I had was basic but comfortable. Bathrooms are also basic, but functional and I found them clean. All the staff are wonderful, very friendly. I’m traveling alone and mentioned that I wanted to do a kayaking dolphin tour but didn’t want to go alone, and staff rounded up all guests together for us to have a nice group. The half day kayak tour was excellent: absolutely beautiful, a good workout, and we saw dolphins!

good value”
I found the Silver Dolphin Guesthouse a pleasant environment with very helpful staff. A family run business with the whole family involved in providing a fairly unique experience. The locality being about 200 metres from the market and the other guesthouses and hotels was generally very peaceful with the Mekong river just across the road making it a quiet and rather pretty locality.

Friendly budget accommodation on the Mekong”
I arrived the hotel very late but the owner didn't forget about my booking, kept a room for one night. The owner has been working as a French tour guide in Phnom Penh, so he knows well about tourism and speaks French and English frequently, which are very helpful for staying at Kratie. Other staffs entertained me while I had a dinner at the restaurant. Recommended.

Pleasant place to stay with good river views ”
The room was nice and came with paper, water, soap etc. Beds were alright although my friends one had extreme springs, mine had a thick blanket underneath but hers did not. Views are good, chilled atmosphere and close to markets and town area. They hire out he kayaks next door which were fine and they were friendly and easy enough to sort out but don't seem to be used very much. When organising the bus trip from Kratie to Mondulkiri we requested abig bus but it was more a minivan and seemed to be the local bus stoppi g often and cramming us in like sardines. We were not at all told this but English was limited to only one member of staff who wasn't always available. Overall though a good ish stay

Nice place in kratie by the river”
We had a great fun staying there. It was nicely located, close to bus station, by the river. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food was good too. They helped us make an arrangement to see dolphins in the morning. It was fabulous experience. We recommend it highly and will be back when we get back to the area again.

Very nice”
Great welcoming and warm family running the guesthouse. Had a private double bed room with bathroom - nice, clean, luminous and big. Food at the restaurant is very good and there are also good restaurants nearby. Staff can help you booking tours and buses. They rent bycicles for 2 dollars a day. Overall, awesome!

River views and cold beer out front”
We had a big group here. It was nice to all be together. The ride for us to the dolphins from here was about 35 minutes. Great to see. LIke the staff. Will return for sure with all our motorcycles. Greetings from Laos!

Not too bad”
There was a group of us who stayed for 3 nights. We pre-booked online and they picked us up at the bus station in their tuk tuk. We met some people on the bus and the staff continually thought all of us were together. We did feel a bit overwhelmed when we continually were being asked about going on adventures and extras through the hostel. While the staff is very friendly [making sure to remember names] they can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. Their English is pretty decent. We found out later that using the internet was not free. Some of the people we met in the hostel put some food and drinks on their room tab and ended up having things charged that they didn't order. I found it best to pay immediately after each meal to avoid this type of thing. The beds were okay, not the best I've slept on, but also not the worst. The air conditioning was the best part. There are other hotels/guesthouses/hostels on the same road [but not online] so my suggestion is to do some scouting before you decide on this one. We originally only booked here because it was the only one we could find online. But there are plenty of others in the same area.

Basic but okay. Very good value for money.”
Fine. Good for one night stay on the way from Phnom Penh to Ratanakiri. Many excursion options including island across the Mekong, dolphin watching 15 km north of town and endangered turtles sanctuary in 100 pillars pagoda in Sambor, 35 km north of town. The guesthouse can help with all.

Can't complain”
Can't complain for the price really. The room advertised a TV but it was broken which wasn't a big deal. Lots of bugs in the bathroom window and water pressure completely stopped during my shower, staff were strange. To be expected
