Perfect”
This is genuinely my favourite place I stayed in Cambodia. You're right on the beach which is amazing, the owners are all great and every night the food was incredible. I booked for 2 nights but stayed for 5 (would've been longer if I had more time) and I didn't want to leave. It's well worth the walk from Saracen Bay! Playing petanque and drinking beers while the sun sets is the perfect way to spend your evenings. I stayed in the both the tipi and dorm and would recommend either. Stay here!!

Best week of my life”
This is an INCREDIBLE place to stay. Prepare for the jungle hike (pack light, enclosed shoes) and then enjoy your holiday of bliss. the beach is absolutely pristine , avoid Saracen Bay and everywhere else and come straight here to Sunset Beach. Amazing food and four restaurants to choose from and a super calm atmosphere. and you must do the plankton tour !!! wish i didn’t have to leave :,)

Love this place. Our favourite spot on Sanloem. ”
Beautiful location on one on of the best beaches on the island. Lovely sunsets and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Recommend the wood fired pizzas, crepes and the spiced rum!

I never should have left”
Not sure why I left. This place is paradise. Understand you are camping on a beach and not everything will be super clean. Having said that, the people and location and food are all wonderful!

Super beachside retreat”
Great little French-run low-key resort, with spacious tents, huge tipis and small bungalows; shared bathrooms. Good facilities including snorkelling gear (basic), fishing trips, hammocks and tightrope net seat, boules, pool table and table tennis. Communal meals at 8, cheapest on the beach. Owner could be a bit gruff first thing in the morning, but always helpful, all in all a wonderful quiet and chilled spot.

Wonderful times ”
I had an amazing time, staff was very helpful and food was great! I stayed in the dorm with a bed and a mosquito net which was super nice to have. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Worth the hike”
Tranquility somewhat spoilt by the sound of nearby generators in the evening, electricity and wifi are unreliable. Nice friendly staff with a communal feeling. Beach is much cleaner than on the other side at Saracen.

Paradise”
Super chill destination with amazing staff, friendly people and good food. Highly recommend the Teepee as is more glamping than camping. Loads of games and activities to make up for the lack of Internet but be warned that the trek through the jungle from the ferry is steep.

There are better places along sunset beach”
It was a really cool experience to stay on sunset beach (including the hike through the jungle from the ferry port!) but sleeping trees as a stay was not worth the money. We only booked and prepaid for one night in the teepee tent at first. This was all fine! Nice tent- there was just a mattress and a lamp but that’s all you need really. Then we wanted to extend so we were offered just the standard tent. This was okay, the sheets were pretty dirty but we didn’t mind so much. The food however was a major let down. The only proper meal on offer was fried rice (which they ran out of). Then we went for breakfast and they had ran out of ingredients for all those items so we could only have a “French breakfast” (this was just toast and jam that cost $3.50). We went to other places for food after that and found the Spanish place next door to be really really good! And Robinsons bungalow at the end also had amazing food! The second let down of sleeping trees was the staff. They were friendly when we first arrived but after that we would cross paths and have no warm or friendly interaction not even so much as a smile (excluding the one Cambodian lady who would greet us whenever she would see us). The final disappointment came when we were checking out. We aimed to leave at 8-8:30 in the morning to get our ferry back to mainland. Upon checking out our bill was unexpectedly high - they had charged us for the room we already paid for as well as charging us the same price for the standard tent that we paid for the teepee which was strange considering it was the most basic option for accommodation. We queried it and the lady had to go and wake up her boss (hungover and asleep) to solve this for us. He didn’t come out he just offered a few dollars off. This was completely off putting and unprofessional. You have guests checking out but you got too wasted the night before to get up and deal with the checkout - not a good farewell at all. Overall, there are better places along this

Close to the sunset beach and nature. Be carefully about the food in their restaurant.

We got scammed! We booked a tepee, but had to sleep on the tree tent”
Avoid the Sleeping trees because we and other people got scammed! My wife and I booked a tepee for 3 nights. When we checked in, the manager called Fred told us that Agoda indicated for him that our booking was a tree tent instead of a Tepee as per our booking confirmation. We showed him our invoice, but he said that our tepee was already booked by another customer for that night and that it was not his fault. He was blaming Agoda for not making a distinction between the tree tent and the tepee. He also told us that this problem happens every day and that the price of both type of accommodations are the same. BUT, that’s a Lie as you can see for yourself on Agoda. The tepee is double the price as it’s much better! It has a bed, fan, towels, water, and toiletries. We told him that this was not true, and that we paid more, so we requested he paid back the difference, but he refused! So, we ended up sleeping the first night at the Tree tent, and the other two on the tepee. This is

Most organized place on Sunset Beach and most definitively the most beautiful accomodation ”
Don't expect too much luxury at Sunset Beach, but that makes it all part of the charm. Sleeping Trees offers hanging tents (fun experience!) which are located right in front of the beach (literally takes less than 10 steps to get into the water). We stayed at one and, although a bed was a welcome luxury after 5 nights, we wouldn't have wanted it to be any different. Falling usleep under the stars, waking up and taking a swim with the first rays of sunlight; best experience we had in 2 months of travelling. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is decent, and the pool table has not a scratch on it. The grounds of Sleeping Trees are well maintained and super tidy, while not having the constant buzzing of people around you. AND the eco friendliness of this place with its solar power is also a nice touch. Book in advance and give yourself more time than the "usual" two nights, because it deserves that! Only negative point is that water refill tastes weird :(

Great secluded spot”
The journey to get this location can be difficult, but is well worth it. There is a 40min hike through some jungle, so do not bring a lot of luggage. Best to leave it in a hostel on the main land, or one of the ones near Saracen Bay (where you get off the boat). You have to find the path to Sleeping Trees off the boat - as you are walking off the pier, turn right to the Dive Shop - the path through the jungle is behind this. The Sleeping Trees "resort" is very relaxed, and not busy - as close as you can get to a deserted island feeling, but having someone cook all your meals. The food is very good, and I would highly recommend the "family" supper in the evening. If you like relaxation and taking it easy this is exactly the place. The staff are awesome and ready to get you anything you need.

Nice place on a beautiful beach”
Pros: Breathtaking beach! Amazing volunteers working there, although the owners are a not so friendly. Sleeping in the tent is s great experience and was comfortable (except for the nights when it was raining). They have a good variety of entertainment like pool table or petanque. Cons: Two of our 5 nights was a loud party during the night. We missed our boat because of the wrong information from staff (please be careful next time and inform guests that the Buva boat can depart from different piers in Saracen Bay)

Gorgeous beach, worth the epic hike”
The tents are basic, which is fine, just a cotton sleeping bag and a small pillow provided but slept comfortably. It leaks in the rain but it didn't rain much. The biggest factor to be aware of is the epic walk. We got used to it after a few times but the first time when you've probably just got off the night bus and the ferry, to walk that trek with your stuff takes a bit of toughening up. It's not just a walk, it's a rocky incline with a rope (!) a lot of the way to help you up. I did it in flip-flops but it would have been better with real shoes. Then whenever you want to go back to Saracen Bay you gotta do it all over again. Sunset Beach is amazing though, just looking straight back at the jungle from deep clear water. The staff seem to be pretty much smoking French backpackers who do some things sometimes. They keep the basics running ok but seem to be there mainly to hang out, not super into being attentive or providing customer service. Food and drinks are fine.

Tents on the beachfront are a must try”
The place is well run by very friendly staff. Made us move for free from the tent to bungalows for a storm which was very nice of them In case you happen to be on the Island during a storm make sure to head there, they are équiped with a pool table and arcade console. Perfect for a 48h storm. Food is ok but not extraordinary (it’s an island anyway so don’t expect too much )

Very good”
Located on a secluded beach - the trek out with bags is a bit of a challenge, but totally worth it for the lack of people and the beautiful sunsets. Lots of activities (and hammocks) available. Loved the family style dinners! Yves, the owner, did everything he could to make our stay pleasant!

Good bungalow, little bit overprices, stuff unfriendly”
In general the bungalow was ok, what we didn't like: there was a used toothbrush once we arrived - so I don't know of the bathroom was really cleaned ? There was lots of cobwebs and dust - so don't expect much. Moscito net was good. Overall too expensive for the bungalow. Food was very poor, we eat out at the neighbours restaurant for better price and quality. Stuff was mostly very desinterested. Checkin-lady was friendly, all over the rest... was not even smiling... We didn't feel very welcome and spent most of the time outside. The beach was very good, every location tried to clean up as much as possible.
