Lovely Bungalows by the beach”
Lovely Resort. Best stay in Koh Rong Samlom. I booked the dorm bed but decided to upgrade to the bungalows. It is very clean and modern beyond what I expected. The bed was comfortable and basic amenities. Very clean and safe lock. The bungalow is right next to the beach off the dock when you arrive on the island. Beautiful view and great staff. The food is great at their restaurant as well. Will definitely stay here again. Good value for money

Backpacker's Paradise, Not as upscale as it looked”
Given that this was the hottest time of the year to visit Cambodia, my partner and I were looking for an upscale island experience on a budget. Primarily we wanted long white beaches, with some amenities and great food. The picturesque images and amenities that were listed for The Beach Island Resort seemed to match our desires. Upon arrival we saw that the island was indeed gorgeous and matched the images we had in our minds. Check in was easy, and nothing really beats stepping out of the door of our private VIP bungalow onto a pristine white sandy beach. Incredible! The waters were clear and at night we had an amazing bioluminescent experience! Hiking around the island was awesome, and there are some incredible restaurants around. Koh Rong Samloem was so beautiful. However, we were disappointed to find that some amenities we had specifically required were not actually available. There was no WiFi (a + for some people, but for us an inconvenience), and no air conditioning! This made our stay uncomfortable due to the temperatures hovering around 34C or 98F throughout our stay. There was only one fan in the 9m bungalow, and it did not serve the entire room properly to be considered "Air Conditioning." Additionally, the safe was broken, the showerhead was broken, and our room was not cleaned or water / mini bar replenished by resort staff once while were were there for 3 days. We had to request towels at the front desk. While the staff did respond to requests (luggage support, towels, etc) we were somewhat surprised to have to ask. If we were not honest people, we easily could have gotten away with not paying for the mini bar items that we did use (there were some nice wines, and of course beer provided that we enjoyed). Those issues aside, it is an ideal upscale backpackers paradise. Just be aware of amenities listings, double check by emailing ahead of time so that there are no surprises. And perhaps go during a cooler time of year than April!

Exceptional”
The double bed dormitary is perfect as a couple if you want something not too expensive on the beautiful saracen bay. The dormitory was very quiet and it is amazing to sleep and wake up in front is the sea. Good location on the beach (not in the mindle of restaurants). Amazing breakfast.

Unbelievable beach and bungalow but poor food!”
We loved Koh Rong Samloem! The beach is just beautiful and the water blue and clear. We stayed in the deluxe bungalow which was well laid out and clean. The only downside to this resort is the restaurant. Even though it was low season, there was hardly any options on the menu to chose from. They even have a wood fired pizza oven but was not being used... instead... the microwave! Also there is no wi-fi which was misleading on the website, but it is such a magical spot that you won't need it. Breakfast was below average and would recommend strolling down to Saracen Bay Resort, fantastic food there!

Stayed for 4 nights in this resort and can tell for sure this is best place in Koh Somleam. Clean, quite, nice beach, good bar and restaurant with hand made pizza oven and nice stuff who speak good English and can explain u where to go and what to do on the island. Perfect gateway for any budget

Sleeping on the beach”
Overall, I would recommend staying here. We booked for 2 nights and then stayed for a 3rd in the double bed dorms that face right onto the beach. The hostel is at the end of Saracen beach so it's not noisy and you can wake up to a beautiful sunrise. Staff are nice and the facilities are basic but well maintained and clean. Beds aren't made up/sheets changed during your stay. Beer is cheap and there is a big bar/restaurant area where you can hang out. Saracen bay is great for bars and places to eat but the water is much cleaner on lazy beach on the other side (about 30 mins walk away).

The beach island is one of the best resorts out of the few resorts on this little beautiful island. A little more expensive then other accommodation but very centrally located and a little more comfortable. Highly recommended.

Amazing”
Koh Rong Samloem was spectacular, make sure you go for a night swim in the sea because the plankton sparkles. we stayed for 3 nights and loved it, the food at the beach isn't great and they always run out of everything but restaurants up the beach at Saracen and freedom are great.

The resort located nearly at the end of the beach but have taxi boat to pick up you at the pier. The beach is clean and beautiful. Bungalows design is friendly with environment. Staffs are super nice and not talk to much or make you feel unconvenient while stayinv here. In addition, they collect garbish and clean the beach everyday. Foods is tasty

Perfect relaxation spot”
I absolutely loved my time here. It's close to the docks, staff maintains the beach and the grounds so it's always clean (which can not be said for a few of the expensive places down the beach). Unfortunately, it was super windy while I was there, so you couldn't really use the beach. no worries though, I just hiked to the other side of the island and relaxed there. Bed was super comfy Would defiantly stay again.

Great place to enjoy the sea”
Everything in this resort is awsome. It locates just in the middle of Saracen Bay. Easy to jump to the sea from the Dom room, easy to see the dawn, easy to take the boats. The only thing should be improved is the attitude of receptionist (or the resort's owner perhaps), Ms. Lena. She should be more warmful, more friendly and smiles much more.

Exactly what we were looking for”
Myself and another traveler were only looking for simple and clean accommodation for the weekend in Koh Rong Samloem. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room, but it did the job. We had a big bed, a fan that stayed on all night, and the shared bathroom was close by. The restaurant at the Resort was nothing special, we only ate there for breakfast and one lunch. Service is slow, and often the manager who works the reception desk is away, so you can be stuck waiting to talk to somebody for an hour or two until he shows up.

Peaceful resort”
It's a nice place to stay in Kohrong samloem although The Beach Island Resort is quite far from fast ferry's pier (it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to walk). Clean and there has a lot of space to relax. I stayed 1 night in small bungalow however still had no choice and must used hotel's public toilet. It's ok. By the way, if I knew small bungalow have no private wc and bath room, I would choose dorm with the sea view. After walking on the beach, I see here is the only resort have that kind of dorm. What a pity they dont have lunch or dinner in rain season.

Good although there is a mouse problem and the WiFi which is advertised doesn't exist. A mouse chewed a hole in one of our bags, and on the outdoor beds there is little we could do to prevent it doing so. Staff were unsympathetic and iinsinuated it was our fault for having food in our bags (we didnt) . Just a few traps set upstairs around the beds or bigger storage lockers would solve the problem as we heard from someone else her and previous people had also had issues with the mice. While we accept it's close to the jungle and basic accommodation, I don't personally l think it's great paying $12 a night for mice to chew through your luggage, with no warning about mice, and then be told it's your fault. On a positive note, the food was amazing with massive portion sizes and the location is gorgeous. Staff were generally friendly, if a little lax at waiting on you, leaving it mainly to the general manager. The man who checked us in was also a little blunt, pointing to our room and walking off. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay at koh rong

Authentic bungalows by the beach ”
The bungalows are very simple but the whole resort has a good vibe. The staff cleans the beach every day, so it is free of plastic which cannot be said about most of the resorts at Saracen Bay. The resort has a nice restaurant and their food is good too. Overall, it is a good place to stay.

Firstly, agoda should give a better description of what a budget double room is! we booked this beleiving it was an actual room with a door as it doesnt say otherwise. its pretty much a dorm room with some bamboo walls between each "room" and no door. we were fine with it but it was not what we was expecting. the receptionist as mentioned isnt the friendliest of people either...like getting blood out of a stone if you ask a question. the shared shower room was like a mens footy shower...not seperate cubicles which i didnt like. they were not kept that clean either. the location was spot on though and right on the beach. it was great to see the staff collecting rubbish from the beach in the afternoons, even if we collected 4 bags full in the morning. the sand is lovely on Saracen but the amount of rubbish is a disgrace. the sea water is abit murky too.

Not the best price on the island, sunset beach is better, but has electricity less often. But great view, awesome breakfast (have to pay extra), and very clean rooms with moskito nets.
