The Belle Rive is actually four properties beside each other looking towards the river. Our Superior room was spacious and had a nice view. Complimentary mini bar and a sunset cruise was a lovely bonus provided by the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast served on their beautiful terrace was superb! It is not the hotel's fault but the only negative is the karaoke boats that run up and down the river from late morning until night which spoils the peace and beauty of the river.

The room is very very lovely! All small little details are paid attention to! The breakfast dining place and our room is right by the river side so we have spectacular view! Hotel provide free river sunset tour which is lovely too! Luang Prabang town is super small so it is within few minutes walk from our hotel to everywhere!!! Had great experiences and highly recommended to everyone!

I have a booking with this hotel for 2nights. The hotel upgarde me to the very big balcony room with 2 floors with balcony that we can sit and relax with khong river view. The staffs told us that they have a cruise trip to see sunset for us (wowwww…the cruise is very good and the view is wowwww..) Breakfast is very good amd you can have it until noon! No need to rush.

Thanks to the Belle Rive and her wonderful team of staff, our first visit to Laos was remarkable. Our comfortable room had a balcony looking out onto the Mekong. Hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful and arranged some great day tours and convenient travel by all modes - boat, van, tuk tuk and taxi. Looking forward to a return visit!

Excellent hotel and extremely well located. Their restaurant overlooks the Mekong and is a great spot for breakfast of an evening drink. Rooms are comfortable. Staff go out of their way to make everything easier for you.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Luang Prabang right on the Mekong River, and it exceeded all my expectations. This gem is right next to the Mekong River, in old town…it is the traditional colonial style and is just lovely. Our room was huge , sparkling clean and a huge comfortable bed. I was pleasantly surprised when we got back to our room the first night and discovered they provided turndown service. The shower had lots of pressure , hot water and soft fluffy towels. The included breakfast was outstanding and the restaurant staff was so attentive and they had the best coffee and pain au chocolat that I have ever had, even in France! Somphone , who was working the reception when we checked in, greeted us like long lost friends. He even organized our train tickets to Vang Vieng. Every time you see him he gives a big smile, and that you can count on! I must say, our stay there exceeded our expectations and I can’t wait to stay there again.

Location is 1-2 mins from the Main Street Sakkaline Road. For the night market about five minutes away. Unless you need to be on the Main Street, I would advise due to noise. Upon arrival, check in was smooth and was given a Lemongrass honey drink and a lemongrass scented towels. A nice feature. The hotel I believe has 4-5 buildings all next to each other and one across the street. My rate included breakfast and it was plated but you can ask for more food or drinks anytime. In your room, I love the personal touches and do read the two binders in the room. Gives you tips and suggestion on what to do. I felt it was geared to a first timer to LP. Favorite part was the comic section on the Do's and Don'ts . Minibar has 6 different sodas and two beers all included with your stay. AC and Wifi very stable. The room was clean as it could be and no ants or mosquito despite my stay during the wet season. There is a safe, water kettle, TV, lightweight robes, slippers (thick and not reusable). The staff I have encountered were very nice and helpful. Special recognization to Samsoong (sp.) who assisted me with check in and my suitcase to my room. He also went out of his way in a bicycle to deliver an item left in the room while I was enroute to the airport. Now that was a big wow. Also the service from the restaurant staff - very good and pleasant. It's no five star hotel but comes close, but at double of the price of a hostel.

When travelling, it’s not often that one returns to the same city in less than a year. We have never stayed at the same accommodation in separate trips overseas, but were so impressed by the service and warmth by Somphone, Khai, and Souli in December 2023 that we returned this June. The friendliness of people in Luang Prabang is something else, and the staff at Belle Rive encapsulate the hospitality and spirit of the town. Add the picturesque Mekong about a hundred feet from the terrace with genial restaurant staff like Phaeng and you’re in for a treat. Somphone was ecstatic to welcome us back and even gave us the royal treatment with his outstanding service. He would check in on us from time to time at breakfast, and it felt like a homecoming returning to the Belle Rive. Lastly, the location of Belle Rive is the best you can find in Luang Prabang. It is at the very heart of the UNESCO heritage town with most attractions and sights within walking distance. The hotel is also generous with providing refills at breakfast, complimentary use of well-maintained bicycles and a free Mekong sunset cruise depending on the weather. We had the best time in June during the low season and would recommend the Belle Rive any day! Kop chai la lai!

Great location and exceptional service. Booked the superior room with balcony overlooking the Mekong river, the room is a bit too close for comfort with next room guests and we can actually hear them coming in and out at wee hours. Breakfast is superb by the river, great place to chill after our morning cycling and walk-up Mount Phousi.

After ~2 weeks of budget-ish travel around Vientiane and Vang Vieng, I chanced upon this property and decided to treat myself for 3 nights and get some proper sleep. First impression was that the staff was very service-oriented and thorough. I also got a free upgrade into a duplex (Tamarind 4) because it was the low season, which I was super grateful for. From my reception to check-in to my stay, the hotel exudes an old school lux charm, offering even turn-down service in the evening. There was a Lao-style sofa/mattress thing with a Lan Xang-style triangular pillow, on which I enjoyed many afternoons reading literature and browsing the Internet. I particularly enjoyed reading the hotel's own booklet on recommendations as the prose style brought me back into an old world Luang Prabang kind of feel, which set my mood on this trip, despite me having visited Luang Prabang almost 10 years prior. As an initiative to go green, they offer a metal reusable tumbler for guests to bring when they explore the historical city (as opposed to buying plastic bottles), and they leave 6 - 8 daily refilled glass bottles of water all around the room, and even for a water buffalo like me, I couldn't finish it all. Housekeeping also leaves a jar of very delectable sweet treat, sort of like cinnamon flavored hard pastry. Mini-bar was entirely free, which came with 2 bottles of Luang Prabang craft beer on my check-in. I am more of a Beer Lao guy, but I did finish 1 bottle of LPB beer just to try it out. I'm not sure if these gets refilled after both bottles get finished, but I was left with 1 bottle throughout my stay (which I was fine with since I am not into beer tbh). Breakfast was included, it is a la carte style but you can order as many times as you wish (basically buffet but made to order). I basically tried most, if not all their dishes, over 3 breakfasts. None of the dishes really stood out, but pretty good in my opinion -- made better with the view of the typically mighty Mekong in the background, in a much more tranquil state in the mornings, before the sun heats up the city. Included breakfast is advertized to be utilizable all-day, however, I was explained on check-in that it was up till 12 or 12.30pm, which I was fine with and attributed it to be because it's low season. Complimentary sunset cruise was on a typical longtail boat for about 60 minutes around the Mekong river, as opposed to on this double decker cruise boat that I saw on some ads across the hotel (where you have to book at the hotel). Perhaps as it is low-season. Again, no biggie for me, I just appreciated having this as complimentary. It also included a beverage of choice, which would have been much more appreciated if it was stored in a cooler box or something, as when we (me + other hotel guests) boarded, the drinks were already lukewarm. Again, service amongst all staff was great -- from reception to housekeeping to restaurant staff -- and they all spoke fluent English from what I can tell. Reception was particularly helpful too, offering currency exchange to helping with the bookings of tours, trains and tuktuks. One thing I think reception can work on is that if they would help verify the destination and price of tuktuk journeys in the presence of the drivers and the guests before the journey starts.

My first regret is that I only stayed here for one night. This is a fabulous boutique hotel. From the moment you arrive and are greeted by the amazing Khai to the moment you leave and the staff are all saying farewell you are treated like superstar! My room was fabulous. Complimentary drinks including beer and snacks, and every other comfort you need in a room. I have stayed in some fabulous hotels but even the Royal Orchid Sheraton and the Pullman G in Bangkok can take a few tips from this great hotel. The complimentary river cruise with my complimentary glass of wine was a lovely treat. I was going to venture to the night market for street food but why bother when the hotel’s riverside restaurant serves delightful dishes. Breakfast was stunning too. I cannot wait to return. Its a nice hotel but it was so overpriced I felt completely ripped off. I paid the same as a reasonable motel in Australia and i got a nice hotel...for South East Asia. If I had off paid 1/3 of what I did I would make a good review, but I was ripped off, very much

Incredible reception by Somphone - who guided us through all that the hotel and area had to offer . Welcome drink and cold towel came with the full briefing by Somphone. Room was quirky and had many great touches such as hand written welcome card, free mini bar and turndown service accompanied with snacks! There was a free Mekong river sunset cruise and free drink. Breakfast was substantial from a menu to choose from - all freshly made with great service overlooking the wonderful Mekong river - a great start to the day. Free bikes to tour round the town - much needed - everyone wasn’t pushy but always welcoming. We will return - not too often say that - but the hotel and the town have so much character.

Unfortunately, we arrived during a festival, which meant that the streets were filled with music all day, and into the night. So loud at the hotel, literally shock. Despite the photographs, which make it look like the hotel overlooks, the Mekong, there is a Rd. in between. And that road was filled with noise and motorcycles. We had to move and lost all our money. Under other circumstances, this hotel may be very nice. And the staff were gracious enough to drive us to another hotel. But still…. It was not a good experience. Although, of course, the timing was not the hotels fault

We loves our stay here, the location was perfect being right next to the river while only 5 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants on the main street. The on site restaurant is fantastic and the included breakfast was generous and served until midday . All the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming, they are a huge asset to the place. We will be back in Luang Prabang and will definitely stay here.

The Belle Rive is a gold hotel positioned overlooking the Mekong in the old area of Juang Parbang. Rooms are well decorated but the experience was destroyed by a shanty row. / favela type house behind the hotel which made noise at night from people talking and tv and phones.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Breakfast and river views from the dining area were fantastic. Hotel is in a great location to walk to pretty much anywhere in the tourist area of town. It was very hot when we visited, so we took advantage of the free bikes to make getting around easier. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Was surprised that our booking also included a lovely complimentary sunset cruise. Highly recommend this hotel. Just be aware it is across the street from the river, so I don't believe any of the rooms have a clear view of the river (the dining area is directly above the river). But I didn't see any other hotels that were directly on the river in town. Would book here again if we return to Luang Prabang.

The Belle Rive is a charming boutique hotel in a fabulous location with much of the old town within easy walking distance. Our room had a balcony with a leafy aspect to the Mekong River and you feel connected to the surrounds. The hotel restaurant deck overlooked the Mekong providing a lovely aspect whether it was breakfast or dinner. The staff are very helpful and the service was excellent.

Central location in old town. Staff wonderful. Dining spot is across the street on the river bank and is lovely for breakfast or sundown cocktails. Some sporadic noise from the traffic, but generally peaceful.

Very nice hotel, very professional staff. Only the noises from the busy street in front of the hotel disturbed our sleep.
