We recently stayed at The Point in Kangaroo Point, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The hotel boasts a gorgeous view of the river, which was a joy to wake up to each morning. The room layout was fantastic, with the bedroom and living room being separate, providing extra space and privacy. The bathroom had two doors, which was a thoughtful touch and added convenience. The air conditioning was excellent—quiet and efficient, keeping the space perfectly comfortable. However, a few aspects fell short of expectations. The in-room coffee was disappointing, and the selection was basic—just your standard tea and coffee sachets, with no biscuits or hot chocolate provided. These little extras can make a big difference, especially in a hotel of this caliber. Another issue was the exorbitant pricing at Lambert’s Restaurant. The breakfast buffet was a shocking $45 per person—$90 for two people is simply unjustifiable. While the restaurant’s ambiance was lovely, it was nearly empty, which isn’t surprising given the cost. We also had an incident in the bathroom where the wall-mounted soap dispenser fell unexpectedly, hitting me in the tub. It wasn’t a major injury, but it was startling and could easily have been worse. I didn’t mention it to the staff due to time constraints, but it’s something they should address to ensure guest safety. Additionally, when booking through Agoda, parking was listed as included—a key reason we chose this hotel. Upon arrival, however, we were told parking would cost an extra $20. After showing my booking confirmation, the staff eventually honored the included parking, but not without a patronizing comment: "I’m going to remind you now just so you know it’s not included next time." This was unnecessary and frustrating, especially as I had clear proof it was part of the booking. Despite these hiccups, The Point remains a stunning hotel with exceptional cleanliness, helpful staff, and a fantastic location. With a few improvements, it could easily be flawless. We’d stay here again but recommend being mindful of the additional costs and exploring dining options outside the hotel.
The Point Hotel may be rated 4.5 stars but is a 5 star hotel at heart. The staff are exceptional, the rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are divine with extra pillows if you need. If you need a hotel that is close to St Vincent's Palliative Care I recommend The Point as it is a 6 minute walk.

Love our stays at The Point. This is the 6th time we have stayed here. Amazing views from many of the rooms and the accommodation is amazing. Always incredibly clean and the staff are the friendliest we have ever encountered at any of our stays at hotels.

“Lovely well appointed room and great value for money”
We were delighted with our stay. From the moment we booked it until we left we received excellent service. The room was great with a lovely view towards the city. The king bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and clean, we loved having a cocktail at the rooftop bar which had great views over Brisbane city, the CBD was an easy walk over the foot bridge and we thought the whole deal was exceptional value for money. We will be booking again next time we are staying in Brisbane.
