Wow! We loved Muangthong Boutique Hotel. From the moment we walked in, to the time we left, we were made to feel so utterly welcomed and respected. Oun, the manager could not have been more polite or helpful, even offering to take us out personally on his day off. Our room was extremely comfortable and the hotel was like being in an oasis. It was quiet but conveniently located within easy walking distance of the centre of town. The hotel is like Luang Prabang itself: very serene and laid back but with an overwhelming sense of spirit and reverence. It is simply a little haven in a heavenly place and we would recommend it to everyone and are looking forward to staying here again.

Hotel & Location: "Khop-jai! We will come back!!!", that's exactly what we said to the staffs before we left to airport. We had 5 wonderful nights here, very quiet & romantic settings, perfect for couple like us. Good option if you are looking for 5-stars treatment, & wanted to be a bit away from the town center. Fast and good WIFI coverage all around the hotel ground. 3-5 minutes short walk to town center everyday; good exercise for us, after breakfast / dinner! Coincidentally, almost all couples & families on the same flight with us from KUL, were staying here too, and flew back to KUL on same Sunday flight again. Staffs: Thank you to "Mr Lerd" especially for warm-welcoming us, & mentioned that he read all my special requests via e-mail, and decided to give us free upgrade to Deluxe room with Pool view. We were stunned by the room & view, can't thank him enough. Very friendly manager; Ms MiMi. Room: We stayed in room 302 (new block). Very clean, simple modern large room, comfy King bed, HOME! Loves the modern bare concrete-finish Bathroom, & my most favorite; the shower gel & shampoo provided smelled really-really good. We wanted to ask them the brand/flavor, but we didnt haha! Housekeeping is doing a great job every day. Pool, Breakfast & Views: Nice pool & Jacuzzi at one end, good swim every morning. Nice view from room balcony overlooking the pool. The hotel ground is just amazing; especially the Lotus pond, gardens; very well-maintained. Just priceless view anywhere at the hotel. Simple & delicious breakfast buffet, seating facing the lotus-pond, every morning, loves their "Slow-Detox" juice, Summer Spring-rolls, Banana jam, & fried noodles. Please stay here. We'll stay here again someday, making it an annual getaway maybe, and will definitely recommended to our family & friends too. Thumbs up! :)

We had a wonderful stay at Satri House. The room is clean and well decorated. We like how they served welcome fruit Laos style on banana leaves. The bed is comfy and the interiors are full of antiques and vintage bits and bobs. What I like most ifs their homemade jams which are served with bread for breakfast and I asked for the recipe. The bicycles that they provided for free are cute and practical. Their spa is also great. It takes only 5 mins to town center.

We stayed for for days. staff in this hotel was so kind and friendly and walm. My english skill is so bad and it is too hard for me to understand their localy english but they explained to me kindly about there map culture. As We almost day went out to cave and waterfall and city center. Location is so good. Night market and Fakirism in front of this hotel we could see. I do not know whether food is good or not, bacause we have lunch and dinner outside. Local food is so delicious and very cheap. many good restaurants are near here. There are many restaurant to serve that are not in guide book and trip adviser lanking. Pool is good too water is very fittable for me to swim. Unfortunately I knew they have goood fitness room, I missed. I recomend everyone!

Stayed 4D/3N. A top 3-4 star lodging of choice which we gladly recommend. Reasons include: 1. Super location (walking distance to virtually all town locations) 2. Cold air conditioning in (clean) rooms and linens 3. Some of the best WiFi in Luang Prabang 4. Charming and helpful staff and service 5. Hot/cold water 6. Nice rooftop restaurant with great fruit and soda drinks (and reasonable pricing) 7. No 10% + 10% on dining << our accolades 8. Best vegetarian beet burger we’ve had in a long long while (we somehow had it three times during our stay) 9. Cute bakery/cafe (do get the breakfast with your room) Some rough edges perhaps (depending on room, can have a challenging walk-in to tub/shower and TV reception may not be the greatest, at least that we experienced) but those things did not bother us. A definite recommend and a return location for us. (Please note no elevator here.)

Room was big and clean, bed was big as well. Bathroom was also big, had a bath tub and separate shower area, toilet had a bidet. Staff were also very helpful. They allowed us to store our bags for awhile after checkout, and assisted us with booking transportation to Vang Vieng. Hotel is near restaurants and the town center, so location was really great. Overall we had a great experience with this hotel.

Luang Prabang is a wonderful town with fabulous temples and wonderful french colonial architecture. The hotel is very close to the center of the town where you will find the Museum and Night market. Better restaurants are a little ways away (about 15 minutes walk and further). The hotel also gives close access 25 m to an Arts center. Highly recommended town and the hotel is a good base to explore it.

This is my 3rd time in Luang Prabang and my experience at the Maydou set this trip apart as the best ever. Nicholas and his whole staff were very attentive and went above and beyond to really make our stay special. We are a little worried about the location but it was very easy to get into town and going around on bicycles every day made the trip even more memorable. We checked around several places in the town center and realized that nothing in Luang Prabang compared to Villa Maydou for the price. Absolutely no negatives about this placr.

We were greeted with fruit shake and fruits when we checked in. It was a surprise, as we did not expect it. The swimming pool was nice and lit up at night. We enjoyed swimming in hot weather! It is just one block away from the night market. The Red Cross Herbal Sauna is within walking distance, too. There were lots of choices to choose from for the breakfast and your choice of fruit shake and fresh fruits on the plate were served every breakfast. We stayed in the town center for the same price but Jasmin hotel was much nicer! I highly recommend this hotel.

When I arrived at this hotel, a male receptionist gave me a lot of information about the town. He was such a skillful person that I was not in trouble with anything unknown. Besides that, he was a good speaker of Englsih! I could understand his English very clearly. I stayed at a deluxe room with a bathtub, so I could relax myself by taking a bah after walking around the town. The room was so clean as to sleep comfortably all time! And there is a small pond in the center which makes this hotel look symbolic. Above all, this hotel stands with tranquility! Thnaks to the free wifi service, I could look for some spots smoothly I wanted to see. If I have a chance, I'd like to visit this hotel again.

Le B Pros: - I booked a 'classic double' room via Agoda, and upon check-in, was offered a room which had a small balcony looking toward the garden. This gesture was very much appreciated and I would like to thank Mme Valèrie, the manager..., for this welcoming gesture. Merci Mme! Valèrie sat with me while checking in and reviewed the area on a map which was appreciated. - The day-manager, Mr. Sommaiy was extremely helpful as well during my 3-day stay. I want to note that he graduated on July 26, 2017 from the university there in Luang Prabang with a degree in French. Congratulations!!! - There is a morning market outside the main gate of the hotel, selling toads to birds....( that you can release to help bring you good fortune). There is a night market for tourist 2 minutes walk away. - The hotel is in the old town, walking distance to everything - Newly renovated, (2 years ago). From my understanding it was a former residence and converted into the hotel it is today. This new hotel offers all the modern amenities, with good AC, wi-fi in room, very strong shower and huge bath towels. - Being a solo traveller, the room was adequate but would be tight for two people, offering very little space for luggage and to walk around the room. My room had a comfy double bed, desk and 1 wooden chair. Pillows were soft. Kettle and tea available on the desk. - No problem with mosquitoes or insects at all. I was told by staff that rooms are sprayed during morning cleaning. - Hotel was very quiet at night for sleeping. - Cons: - was not a smoke-free hotel. Guest smoked over breakfast which bothered me, a non-smoker. - Major construction next door. Saws, hammers at work early in the AM. I tried reading on the patio but had to go inside due to the noise. - I stayed 3 nights and there was little variety to the breakfast menu other than how you'd like your egg cooked. A set menu of (1/2 of a baguette, butter/jam, small plate of fruit, yogurt. Guests are given a small press of

Our stay was amazing! The manger Bill and his family went above and beyond to provide us hospitality. Our breakfast was delicious every morning. The hotel was wonderful and very clean which I always appreciate. Bill helped us with advice on where to go and how to get to the favorite local spots including waking up at 530 in the morning to help us with donations to the monks. The location in Luang Prabang was great. The morning wet market was in our alley, the night market was 50m away and we were situated right in the middle of old city near the rivers and all the great restaurants. I can't emphasise how much we enjoyed our stay not only in this town but at the Golden Lotus. We will definitely be back!

I would definitely recommend this hotel because the staff is amazing and will likely find a way to make you have a pleasant stay if anything goes wrong. The hotel and the rooms are really quite nice but I should mention a few things. The rooms are large however some rooms are better than others. The first room we stayed in was on the bottom floor and it seemed to have a weird design flaw with the door that let mosquitos in (room 107). The room was also musty and had a slight smell of mold which made my allergies act up. It also didn’t get much light and felt a bit like we were in a dungeon. We asked to switch rooms and the staff was very accommodating. They showed us a few available rooms and eventually upgraded us to a much nicer room on the 2nd floor. This room was fantastic and we had a terrific stay for the next couple nights. At the end of the day, I would definitely stay here again as there probably aren’t much better options in town for the money.

In a town full of cheap, cheaper and cheapest guest houses, Rendevous stands out as a better quality option, still at a reasonable price. It doesn't have the fawning staff by the dozens found in the upscale resorts, but it is a lovely building, spacious rooms, spotless housecleaning, everything works and nothing smells of mildew. You pay a little more but get so much more. Sorry no river views, but our window looked up at the pagoda on Phousy. It is a short walk to the night market and all the sights on the peninsula. We rented bikes from Moon Guest house and rode around town. The high ratings are not an accident or scam. This place is a fine stay.

I loved my stay! First, hotel manager let me check in way earlier than the usual check in time, which was great after a exhausting long bus ride to LP! I also got a welcoming drink plus fresh fruits! When I arrived in the room it smelled so good and it was extremely clean! The bed is huge and comfortable! I also had a stunning Mountain View from my window! The location is perfect with many restaurants nearby, including Utopia which is 3 min away and the night market! Breakfast is also good, with fresh fruits and many a la carte options to choose! Staff was the best! I felt very welcomed and thought about extending my stay but all the rooms were booked! I’ll certainly staying in Luang Prabang Hotel whenever I come back to town! Thank you for the amazing stay!

The hotel is situated in a great location, in the city center. the rooms are specious and very clean. There is everything you need, hair dryer, shampoo, shower gel, electric kettle, tea, coffee, tv. the lady managing the hotel is very kind and helpful. She gave us all necessary information about the city and things to do on arrival. We were also offered with tea/coffee and some fruits. The breakfast was very good. There was a menu with different options. Last day we had to leave at 7 a.m. to take the bus. The breakfast is normally from 7-10.00 a.m. but knowing that we had to leave earlier, she arranged for us the breakfast at 6.30. Then our pick-up tuk tuk was late and she called our bus agent. Really very nice and kind lady. All in all it's a very good offer for a good price. If somebody traveling as a backpacker or have a budged, this hotel is an excellent choice.

This hotel although hidden away in a narrow laneway is an absolute find! It is within a few minutes walking distance to many attractions in town like the palace, night markets and river front. AS well, it is a short stroll to all the restaurants in the main street. The hotel staff are helpful and very friendly. Free access to hotel internet. Fresh fruit juices at breakfast are ' the best'!

We had a great stay at the Cold River guesthouse for 3 nights. The staff and the owners are very friendly and assist you in any way possible. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a fridge, safety box, tea kettle and the ususal bath supplies. The location is at the edge of the town center, approximately a 10 minute walk to downtown. Breakfast was great. We would definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Luang Prabang! Side note: have a chat with the owners to gain some insights into life in Laos.

I couldn't think of a better place to end my roadtrip. Spend a little extra (it's not much) and book the jr riverside suite. It's nothing but perfect and peaceful. View of the river is very mesmerizing especially during sunset which you can catch by just sitting at the balcony. Room was clean, spacious, rustic, with good water pressure, good WIFI reception and great cable tv. Staff were friendly and warm, breakfast was fabulous (i had some of the best baguettes there), close by to shops, temples, markets, spas, monuments, etc. There's nothing bad about this hotel... For those travellers who say the curtains are a lil sheer. Yes, I agree but guess what... You can always close the balcony door by moving the balcony chairs... Overall a great time at the hotel in every way.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staffs were extremely friendly and nice, the hotel owner told me a lot of fun-fact about Laos culture, and the receptionist (Chuan) drove me around the whole town in his spare time. The hotel location is perfect, just in the center of the town, surrounded by a lot of attractions. The room and foods were decent, they also offered a free yummy lemon shake every time we come back, which was awesome. I am very pleased to recommend it!

Mr .Ben Friendly, helpful stuff. + airport transfer good price. + Located very good from all main attractions 1 mitues , but the area is quite on the bank of Mekong river. 20 min walking distances to center, by the way, you will pass a lovely bamboo bridge. Family run groceries are nearby. Room -The room was spotless, impeccable with comfy bed.Have all the essential appliance that we need. -Lush surrounding with beautiful garden coming to river view. -Breakfas (with combine western/Laos style)was very tasty.

We loved this hotel for many reasons. The location was ideal- in the central part of town only 1 block from the night market and an easy walk to the museum, the steps to Mt Phousi, the restaurants and bars along the river, and many of the Wats. The hotel resembled more a converted mansion with high ceilings and beautiful entrance ways, etc. Our room was large and clean with a super comfortable bed, a shower and tub, and was quiet, too. The small hill in town (that is easy to walk up from the main street) that the hotel is located on gives you great views of the surrounding city and mountains, and gets you above all of the street noise. The staff was super nice and spoke English well. Our breakfasts were good with Western and more local food choices. The hotel could use a little maintenance in spots (like the pool area) but we thought it was an excellent value and we would definitely stay here again

the pumalin is a new place and some rooms were completed only in 2011. it is conveniently located just a few steps from the mekong where there are numerous outdoor restaurants. the town center, the museum and the night market are nearby. it is easy to find. tell your driver that it is behind the post office, down the little street next to the joma cafe. breakfast is served in the garden in front of the hotel and coffee and tea are available all day.
