Wandsworth hotels & places to stay

This is a fabulous hotel. Agoda had a great deal on it and my partner and I booked Thames Room (159 GBP hotel price, 127 GBP through Agoda) for 3 nights. Check in and check out were very fast. Staff was attentive, polite and discrete. Room size was perfect, all facilities working, breathtaking views for Thames and heliport. We saw helicopter landing 3 times during 3 days - it was audible but not disturbing at all. Bathroom was great - large, spacious, modern, well equipped, with bath and TV. TV in the room had a selection of all popular channels, along with paid movies and free internet (additional keyboard provided in the room). The internet speed was fantastic - approx. 30 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload, so perfectly fine for work/streaming/playing. The bed was very large and extremely comfortable. The room had floor-to-ceiling windows on one wall for the views and all had light grey blinds, if someone wanted a bit of shading. There is a Thames walkway right next to the hotel, so perfect for an evening stroll. Not so good bits: guests in rooms close to the restaurant will hear any party going - on one night there was a pretty noisy one, so it is best to avoid these and ask for higher floors. Even though guests had 50% discount on meals (lunch and dinner only) in the restaurant, the prices were still steep, so we didn't use it. Location: Zone 2, so OK for Travelcards 1-2. However, the nearest railway station (Clapham Junction) was a good 10-15 minutes away on foot through not such a brilliant area. From Clapham it is 2 stops with Southwest Trains (very frequent) to Waterloo Station. The hotel offers free transport to Clapham Junction upon earlier request. Would we come back? Yes, definitely - with another good offer and room at a higher floor. It is as close you can get to a luxury at a reasonable price.

I have stayed at this MK before, twice. I love the concept: it's my kind of pared down, clean style and very functional. Staff are always helpful and smiling. This time I was a bit miffed. Booked a double room but actually got two twin beds on a double base and a gap in between both! I was running late for an event due to transport issues in London so could not afford to hang around & change rooms. Woken at 2.30am by number of noisy guests (2nd floor) coming back from outing. Incredible racket. Housekeeping slipping sadly: bathroom floor dusty, leaking shower & hazardous hair dryer which over heats alamingly, but is ineffective. Needs to be replaced. Great choice of breakfast but terrible weak coffee. I love the idea of MK hotels but they need to be maintained. A bit more care needs to be taken.

This is a fabulous hotel for the price! Needed somewhere local to St Georges Hospital and found this place tucked right behind it. Booked a single room and was in all honesty expecting a noisy, tiny little cupboard - what I got was a lovely clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay with an ensuite shower room and a bed that was apparently a single but was really quite big! While I initially thought it would be too far out of the city for anything other than business in the Tooting area I have to say I'd happily stay here again and hop on the tube into the city - Tooting Broadway is a 10 minute walk away and it was only about 25 mins into Knightsbridge. The only downside for me was the lack of a hairdryer - didn't check that before I booked so it may well say this on the site :)

We wanted to stay 1 night in London see all the sites and go out in clapham and balham. The hotel was cheap and everything we asked for. We booked a double basic room for £55 for the room. I rang to ask about check in time and realised we had picked a room with a shared bathroom! Check in was at 2pm but staff take your bags at any time we went to check in at 11am dropped our bags. The hotel is terraced houses done up and split into rooms. We didn't see any other quests nice and quite. Room was clean comfortable and had tv with sky,kettle,iron and ironing board and a wardrobe. Breakfast is a self service set up. Kitchen with the fridge packed full of bacon bread eggs jam apple juice orange juice ham sausages. Perfect for us as you can have whatever you want at whatever time of day you want. Check out is dropping a key in a box. Easy

Absolutely beautiful hotel in a great location by the water and a helipad which wasn't noisy whatsoever and a great sight at breakfast. Spacious rooms with very comfy beds, had a great sleep both nights we stayed, and it was a very calming hotel. Very clean, great staff and a fabulous breakfast. Whenever we have business in Clapham we will continue to stay at this hotel!

The service apartment was very well equipped with a fridge, washing machine, cutlery and complimentary wi-fi. It's also convenient to get to by bus 170 from Victoria station. The studio apartment was a good size with a big wardrobe. It can accomodate up to 3 persons as it has a sofa-bed. There's no in-house restaurant though Battersea Village is a 15 minute walk away.

Very good room, excellent shower. Minor problem - the bathroom door wouldn't close properly. All very new and clean. Plenty of room and storage space. Tea and coffee facilities available. Disappointing that no breakfast available. Fire alarm went off in middle of night (false alarm). Staff helpful but a bit out of their depth as couldn't contact the manager. Otherwise, fine.

Check in was a nightmare! Nothing was sent to me and finding a phone number that worked was difficult. Eventually got on to them and they kept claiming that they sent me the details I needed to provide to get the code to access... I check my email regularly and checked the junk mail but had nothing from them. I’d even emailed a few days before asking for the information and no one responded. Was standing outside the property for 25 minutes trying to sort it. The flat itself is nice. Facilities are clean and there’s a kitchen and bathroom on each level which is useful. It does echo as it’s floorboards though so was woken up at 7am by other people both mornings. Bit more sound proofing and communication and it would have been a great place to stay

If you are considering saving money but still having accessible transportation, this could be a good choice. Northern Line is basically running 24/7 so it's easy to get back if you fancy a night out. With some limitation/lack of daily essentials, it was not so convenient for us when we moved in the first day. I expected the toilet tissue and hand wash to be refilled everyday, but it seemed not. Some habit of not keeping the kitchen clean from other tenants sometimes annoyed me but I couldn't say anything since it's flat share and I just need to get over it.
