West Kensington hotels & places to stay

This fantastic budget hotel is located on a quiet street in the West Kensington section of London that is close to two underground stations (Earl's Court, West Kensington) and one overground station (Kensington- Olympia). The rooms are a small yet comfortable and equipped with large beds, TVs, private bathrooms and a hot water kettle for coffee/tea. Staff was generally helpful and responsive to my requests. The only negative would be the stained carpet in my room that probably should be replaced (or at least very thoroughly cleaned). All things considered, I consider this excellent option for the budget traveler seeking accommodations in West London.

We booked this property, the two bedroom apartment on the second floor, for a few reasons. First, it could accommodate our family of 6. It had a kitchen and a washer. Second, its location to the West Kensington Tube Station and the Barons Court Tube Station. Third, it was near grocery stores, a pharmacy, and a pub. Last, the price. We paid $937 for 6 nights. Speaking to the street noise. It was loud. I would recommend earplugs if you are sensitive to that noise. The common area has a kitchen and living room space with a couch that can be made into a bed. Our 8 year old daughters slept on that. There are two bedrooms, each with a code on the doors. I understand now how the apartment could be shared by two different renters. I can see how others were put off by that not knowing going into the rental. The shower was a little weird. The high shower head did not work. There was a hand-held sprayer but it was awkward. We ended up taking quick baths.

Location is fantastic. 3-4 mins walk to West Kensington tube. There is no lift/ elevator at the station but its just a short flight of stairs- small matter. There are many halal restaurants at an affordable price and Tesco/ Coop. All along the roadside towards the station. Not forgetting Halal supermarket selling Halal meat. We felt that the neighbourhood is safe. Though the room is small but it is cleaned and equipped with microwave, kettle/ boiler, stove and table & chairs. You need to bring your toothbrush and toothpaste. The toilet tiles are very slippery but small matter. Mark is the Manager and he is friendly and approachable. He will try his best to accommodate to your needs.

I choose this hotel even though some reviews were not great. I needed a central London hotel at a moderate price with parking. so not a large choice. For the price bracket I had no complaints. rooms small but clean, yes maybe some decorating required, scuffed corridors etc but not unclean. good quick breakfast, not five star of course, toast, drinks, cooked selection, all you needed. Parking was first come first served, so arriving late meant no spaces, although just around the corner is another car park, so no problem. bars and restaurants in walking distant if you wish to stay local, West Brompton train and tube station just a few minutes walk for all central London has to offer. London on a budget perfect.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from West Brompton station which is handy going around London. The place is clean and on a quite enough neighbourhood which is a plus around London. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have their own traditional bar on the first floor,an option if you don’t want to go out for drinks,although there are several near places for food and drinks if you do want to go out. And if you’re Filipino,Jollibee London is just the next train station if you’re craving a taste for Chickenjoy.

Our stay was super. We jumped on the train from Gatwick to Victoria and from there we took the tube to the hotel. West Kensington tube station is just 2 minutes walk from the W14. The receptionist was very friendly, we checked in quickly and a member of staff helped us with our luggage to the room. The room was amazing, the neighborhood really quiet (plus friendly neighbors) and the location of the hotel was perfect. Everything is so close and in no time you are in central areas like Chelsea and Westminster. Construction, however, was in progress at the time and that was perhaps the only issue, though we must say that the builders and workers were very discreet and quiet, as if everything was under control and in excellent order. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to London for business or pleasure. It’s a good value for money with a professional service. We are definitely planning to stay there again.

It's near West Brompton station and West Kensington station. Near bus stops. Tesco Express, Mini Waitrose and COOP supermarkets nearby. Lots of cafes, restaurants on the same road. Breakfast is the same every day but good varieties: juices, tea, coffee, breads, croissant, muffins, cereals, yoghurt , fruits, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs and baked beans . Rooms are equipped with many power outlets that includes USB ports. Wi-Fi included. Tea& coffee with jug kettle and hairdryer available in the room. Front desk personnel were friendly and so helpful especially Goldie and Claudia. Breakfast staff especially Maurice is so efficient and friendly. Thank you for a great 10 night stay at Holiday Inn Express Earl's Court.

This is our 3rd year staying here. The apartments are looking very tired and the fixtures were falling apart. The door was broken in the first apartment we stayed in, and we were moved to another one after extensive argument. Overall, our experience here has gone worse year after year. We may have to find somewhere else next year if they show no signs of improvements.

Stayed here for one night on Saturday. Apartment was lovely. Very hard to find. I booked in January through agoda. About a week before I needed to contact them to change the payment date, it took 2 attempts of being on hold for 20-30 mins to get through. case was then passed to city relay. lady who checked us in and I spoke with was great, the same can't be said for others. We didn't get our check in details until 9pm the night before we were due to arrive despite paying on the Thursday over the phone through agoda the property was saying it didn't have payment. The manager then called me and sorted it out but not what you need night before going away not knowing if we would have a place to stay when we arrived. Check in was supposed to be from 3pm but the apartment wasn't ready until 5 but in fairness to them they did let us come in while the cleaner was still there. 2 bedroom and one sofa bed which we had to make up. We had fun but wouldn't recommend.

Brilliant location, friendly staff, suited our needs but let itself down on communication and facilities. We asked for an early book in as offered on website only to turn up and find out it was not possible; they had had a month or so to tell us this was not possible but did not, it was not a problem in the end as we had our car but someone without one would have had issues. The things provided in the apartment were set up for four people where as we were, as stated and as said suitable for on the Web page, five people. We had to take it in turns to eat, there were in fact only three sets of cutlery, no tray for the oven or oven gloves, only four chairs etc. The place was very small with five of us but thankfully our three children are very young; you couldn't stay there with bigger children let alone four adults. Would definitely use again as all these issues are out weighted by the fabulous location.
