Westminster hotels & places to stay

The rooms are small, quaint and modern - the reason why I called it ‘Snug as a Bug’ Perfect. We had a room without a window and we loved how dark and quiet it was and how comfy the bed was. Our room was one of the smallest which I knew when we booked it. I didn’t mind as we were only there for two nights. If you are staying longer you may require a bigger room. They have free wine and appies everyday between 5 to 8 pm. Great wine and food. This is definitely an added bonus especially after sightseeing all day. After that if you still want dinner or more drinks there is a great pub next door. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Victoria Station and close proximity to Buckingham Palace, the hop on hop off bus stop, and Westminster Abbey. We would definitely stay at the Z Hotel again.

It was a short stay, however the convenient location in such a busy time of year made all sight seeing possible by foot. There was an easy checkout option which took time off from waiting inline to checkout. Had been travelling for a period of time and it was the best nights sleep I had on my whole journey. Certainly would choose Doubletree Westminster again, walking distance to both Victoria coach & train staitions were close by.

This hotel is ideally situated next to London Victoria train station with direct trains to Gatwick and Heathrow and a good connection to Stansted. Walking distance to Westminster Abby, Big Ben and other attractions. There are a lot of eating choices within 5-10 mins walk. The rooms are a little small but that is expected in most major European cities. Staff at the hotel is very nice and helpful. We had buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the food and service was great. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Cancelled my overnight stay at the plaza Westminster after I saw my room (£317) per night. Booked this for (£107) including breakfast for 3 . Short taxi ride and I was delighted. Much cleaner, quieter, in a lovely district surrounded by traditional townhouses. . The Staff were so helpful and friendly , the restaurants within walking distance were incredible. And it is a short walk or taxi to Westminster. Very happy I changed hotels.

The hotel has a side door which is located right inside Victoria railway station, so that is very convenient. There are a few steps though, so if you've heavy luggage, that may be slightly problematic. But the hotel staff have impeccable service and really made us feel welcomed. Hotel is also a five-minute walk to the coach station where you can take a coach (National Express) to Heathrow Airport. There are also other buses out to other areas, so it's really convenient. Many tourist attractions like the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace, as well as parks (Buckingham Palace Park, St James Park, Green Park) are all within walking distance from the hotel. With a map, it's really easier to navigate your way around the streets. There are also many theaters in the area, so if you are into musicals, you will love to stay at the Westminster area. If you need to take the tube, the Victoria Station Underground is linked to the railway station, so that's very convenient too. The hotel room is really comfortable and clean. We checked in and went almost right away to do sight-seeing. When we returned, we were informed that there was a problem with the a/c and the hotel automatically upgraded us to an executive room which was great. In the daytime you can faintly hear the announcements from the railway station, but who stays in the room in the day anyway. At night, the room was great to sleep in. Personally I find it too busy in this area as we also stayed in the Tower Hill area (opposite Tower of London) and it was just 5 minutes to River Thames. But overall, this hotel is really fantastic and I would recommend anyone who wants to do sightseeing to stay here.

We enjoyed a fabulous weekend stay at the Conrad St James. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are luxurious and well-appointed with a great bathroom. The breakfast buffet and food at the Blue Boar are both excellent. The location is perfect for easy access to the tube a great attractions in walking distance to Westminster and Buckingham Palace. Thank you Conrad St James for a wonderful stay we will definitely return for another visit.

We spent 5 days at the Grapevine upon recommendation from friends. Knowing them be a bit choosy, we expected more but overall it was not an unpleasant stay. The best thing about the Grapevine is, of course, the location - close to Victoria Station and Victoria Bus Station. The location was just right for us because we had to leave early in the morning. The first thing that may be counted as an unpleasant surprise was the room size - it was an indeed too small triple room without much space and it was difficult to even find some room for the suitcases. The room was clean, though, and the heating was on, which to me was really important. The bathroom was really small, just like the room itself and I suppose it will be difficult for a bigger person to take a normal shower. The beds were really comfortable, which was also good. There was also the opportunity to make tea or coffee in the room. I must admit that I don't feel entirely disappointed although some things could have been better but since we only went back to the hotel to spend the night, I don't mind some of the disadvantages.

My son (8 years old) and I just loved London. I planned to stay one day in transit just to see the place, maybe 2 for jetlag. We stayed 5 or 6 and only left so as to still be able to see the other places on our itinerary. We will be back! I could go on and on about this place we stayed. It was both a fantastic value and oh so comfortable. It was like having your own personal flat in London with a maid to do your cleaning. The views out the rooms are either to a lovely courtyard and very old church with old trees around, or to an old brick apartment building with a ton of chimneys that reminded me of the chimney dance scene in Mary Poppins. Both delightful. The room was perfectly clean and oh so comfy and homey. And the ceilings are high with nice mouldings surrounding them providing a hint of elegance. The neighborhood is in the most perfect location close to the tube with just a couple stops before you're at the main sightseeing attractions. A few blocks (pretty white house/apartment lined blocks) away from a quaint neighborhood of small eateries, shops and grocery stores. A delightful neighborhood- much more genuine than pickering place and not so snobby as another neighborhood we saw. But still very clean and safe. The housekeeping staff was very warm and friendly and the office/booking staff went out of there way to help us more than once. There may be other lovely places to stay in London, but this has got to be amongst the best values for comfort and location.

Professional staff. Rooms are very clean and well designed. The bathroom had plenty of space and comparable to a 5 star hotel. For a family of 3, we were initially placed on the 3rd floor to a room in my opinion only fit 2 people. The rollaway bed took up our luggage space. Nowhere to move and luggage had to opened on top of beds. Luckily our a/c broke and we were moved to a decent basement room that was designed for 3 adults and still had space for luggages and space to move around. The internet was not stable at the basement.

Great location for a typical day of exploring London. Room was snug but clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Best rate was from booking with Agoda. Never booked with them before but will again. Parking could be a problem as it is primarily residential in the area or pay by phone but for a maximum of 4 hours. I have had to complete the food/dining part of the survey but didn't actually eat in the hotel.

This place was centrally located in the Westminster area, walking distance to all the great touristy places in London as well as the bus and metro stations. The breakfast was sufficient, which included OJ, apples, bananas, cereal and toast or croissant with jelly. The rooms were small, but cozy, batroom was clean, only downfall to this place is the bed wasn't great and what you expect for a 100 US dollars a night, then again it is westminter London.

I met my daughter, who lives in Europe, in London and we stayed at the Windermere Hotel. Its location to start with was a really easy walk from Victoria Station. We had a walk around and headed to Westminster and Southbank which were not far. The buses back also stopped really close. From our first arrival, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were lovely, small but beautifully appointed. The bathroom was large and modern with the shower having a choice of two shower heads, depending on your preference. I would definitely stay at the Windermere Hotel again. Great find in the heart of London.

The B+B is two Georgian houses knocked into one in a very desirable area of London. A short 6 min walk from Victoria Underground. There is a very nice Italian Restaurant, Da Scalzo, just around the corner, near to a Sainsbury's Local and a wine bar 50 yards down the road. Our room was on the top floor accessable by stairs. The bed was comfortable and the decor good. There were a number of options for breakfast, the full English was excellent. My only observation is that the tiling in the bathroom needed improving, but this seems to be a usual thing in London, and there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. All in all one of the best and least expensive places we have stayed in London.

Location was excellent. 2-3 minute walking dist. to Victoria coach & train stations; 2-3 minute walking distance to various restaurants, try Rosa's Cafe and DimT Restaurant; Sainsbury's and Tesco Express are also nearby; 10-minute walking distance to Westminster Cathedral; 20-minute walking distance to Buckingham Palace. 2. Staff was helpful. We asked for extra pillows and toiletries and they readily obliged. They were also helpful in giving information about nearby restaurants/shops. 3. Room. We were a family of 3 adults with 3 large suitcases and 3 small ones and we had enough space to move around. Our room was along the road and I initially had a hard time with the traffic noise but I just got used to it as the days progressed. 4. Facilities. The room is a bit dated. The TV did not have enough channels. The flush in our toilet initially did not work but they eventually had it fixed. 5. Continental breakfast was more than enough to get us through the morning.

Hotel location is nice. About 20 minutes to Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. The hotel itself is cute from the outside and the lobby. The rooms need an update. My bed was slanted when I slept on it. The bathroom is extremely small, which is expected. However, there was nothing to try and prevent the water from the shower getting all over the rest of the bathroom. There needs to be some sort of lip to help contain the water otherwise everything gets soaked. Also, the maid did not switch the sheets on the day they were suppose to be changed. The free breakfast was a plus. And great restaurants in the area. But just be prepared for a messy bathroom and not the best sleeping arrangement!

Location: since located between Belgravia, Pimlico, and Westminster, major sightseeing like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, or Brompton Rd. are just within walking distance. Nice and quiet neighborhood, even next to Victoria Station. Pubs, restaurants, even street cafes are available all around. Staff: check in, cleaning or breakfast very nice, very friendly. Room: a little bit dated, functional, but clean. Bath: clean. Breakfast: served at the table, English breakfast (egg, sausages, baked beans) with jam, butter and toast together with tea or coffee and a glass of orange juice. Internet was free of charge. All-in-all: 5 points for reasonable rate.

This is a lovely classical 30s building and should provide a charming stay in Westminster. Unfortunately, our stay was not the best. The pool and wet rooms are out of action. The general condition of the room was just above 3*. Paint work was tired and the bathroom needed a make-over. The room carpet was dirty and stained; not pleasant in bare feet. And the noise. Doors were slammed until past midnight and, after an all too short sleep, the noise started again at 6 am. The cause is the style of lock used on the doors. So,if you are looking for a quiet hotel, bear this in mind. Notices on the doors would help. On top of this they wanted to charge £10 per day to use their WiFi. Robbery. I will not return. There are better hotels in Pimlico that are run by enthusiastic, caring teams.

Excellent in every aspect. This budget B&B exceeded all our expectations. Particularly noteworthy was the full English Breakfast, great location (10 min walk from Victoria Station; 30 min walk from Westminster Abbey), and great staff (they watch our luggage for a whole day after checkout). Of course the room was modest, but clean. And there were no lifts. But for the price, we can live with that.

Best Western Buckingham Palace Road is located at the heart of London- Westminster. It is about 20 steps away from the Victoria Bus Station. From this place, you could reach the different cities in the UK. The place is very clean and they serve good breakfast. But most of all, the staff are very hospitable, friendly and helpful. For this, I give the hotel a five star marking.

Although a bit pricey for my budget, the Blades was a great little hotel. The location is excellent with an underground station very close and many sights (Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Parliament) within walking distance. The area has many shops, pubs and restaurants and I felt safe walking around even at night. There is even a small park nearby if you just want to sit in the sun. The hotel has some architectural character and the room was clean and comfortable. The en-suite was tiny, but functioned well with good water pressure and temperature. Breakfast was minimal (toast, cereal, ham, cheese, yogurt, tea/coffee) but enough to start the day. The 'restaurant' is only open for breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly. Wi-fi is available but I found it to be sporadic and often a weak signal. Overall, I would probably stay there again.
