Perfect Guest house for the price.”

I have been 2 years in Phnom Penh, stayed in many guest houses especially in street 172 and 19 (which is very close to 172 where the guest house is located). I like this area because of 10s of restaurants and guest houses, cafes, supermarkets, very close to the river and most of the attractions, and has many backpackers. I always don't expect much from $11-$12 double AC rooms, but in White river 2 it exceeds my expectation. The room is very big, very clean, with a huge clean bed, kitchen, and office, with a chair to put my laptop in which I used to not have in nearby guest houses in this street, with good wifi and speed as I work online and very amazing balcony to have a drink outside the room. In addition to that, the staff is very friendly, smiling, helpful, speak very good English and always greeting me every time they see me. I highly recommend this guest house among the other in this area and for this price.

I wouldnt have visited phnom penh if there wastnt the s21 and killing fields. I only stayed a night and didnt want to pay much. I was on a room in the first floor with the entrance at a balcony just above street. Really noisy and smelly street. Room wastnt that dirty but didnt feel so confortable. Sheets and towels where old and looked dirty, but didnt smella bad, didnt have toilet paper in bathroom. Rest of building was quite dirty. Staff neutral.

Vacation to Phnom Penh”

A very cheap hotels, has the necessary facilities. Simple toilet and room. Inclusive of TV. The staff at the counter is very helpful. The particular staff actually helped us find our bus and went beyond his duties to ensure that we had not missed our bus to our next location. The location of the hotel is very convenient, it is not far from all the major attractions, a lot of food options nearby. Do take note, if you are a light sleeper, the nights can be pretty loud and busy as they have a few bars around the vicinity. Can be extremely bassy and loud especially during Friday & weekend nights.

We really enjoyed our stay, in fact came back again!”

Well situated, quiet end of the street, cheap bed & food, large rooms, average cleanliness, helpful staff, no hassles. Perhaps lacking in soundproofing, no definitely needs work, hearing other people shagging is a bit off.

terrible.”

I will be contacting customer support regarding this hotel, as the title says it was terrible the worst I have ever seen. Yes I know this was a budget hotel I expected the room to be small and run down with few facilities. I didnt expect the last guests bag and evening take away left on the balcony next to a pile of rat droppings, a door that didnt lock properly rubbish in the hallways blood on the sheets sticky substance covering surfaces constantly running water and exposed wiring with no curtain broken bed etc etc. We complained and were offered another room which was comparable to a third world prision cell.. we were moved to the sister hotel white river 1 after arguing with their recptionist this hotel was just acceptable for the 14 hours we needed to stay at least the staff there were friendly. This should not be classed as a two star more like a 0 star and come with a health warning.

Location, value for money, staff approachability

One of the cheapest places to stay, food prices slightly above other close places, staff friendly and willing to help, could organise trips to the killing fields and s21 through reception.

Cheap but lacking”

It was just an overnight stay in transit for us but literally could have spend a dollar or 2 more for anything better. I already splurged on their AC room but was given no towels, blankets, or even toilet paper for the room. Moldy walls and the occasional cockroach. At least the staff is friendly and the lobby area is nice. Wifi worked well too. Better options in the area though, unless you really need the cheapest option.

The worst place ever. DO NOT book this hotel.”

The room is very very dirty. Roof is humid and bed sheet is never washed. There was a water pipe on top of our bed and it kept dripping water on to our heads. We didn't change hotel because we only stayed for one day and was too tired to look for another one. But do not book this hotel even if you are on a budget. The door and window cannot close properly and there is an opening on the wall facing the street. Worst hotel ever. Staff was friendly though.

Not a great hotel”

For the price we paid, the rooms were dirty. We even had to transfer to a different room as apparently someone else is staying at the room we booked and paid for. The other room was in another building passing through dirty streets and hallways. The staff members were helpful in the end, though my opinion stays: do not stay at this hotel. Not as advertised entirely. Stay somewhere else.

Never book this hostel !!!”

They’re just awful. Location is okay, but the all workers here are unfriendly, always on the phone. Places around here we’re nice, but this hotel made us uncomfortable and just gave the bad impression. They didn’t do laundry even though we asked two days before! They just put hem in the laundry and left it, and we needed to bring them to Siem Reap. I highly recommend not to book this hotel and book the others around here. There are many hotels around here and almost same price. You don’t have to waste your money and feel awful.

location, staff amicability, lemon juice shake

I booked a single with aircon and got a twin with two huge beds neither of which were comfortable. there was a balcony with a really noisy road downstairs and sort of bricks that are open to the elements closed up with wallpaper. the bathroom had the same bricks in the wall which meant the hallway noise was really loud, as well as a huge gap under the door so that there was no noise privacy.
